STB LICENSING EXECUTIVE - China

Licensing Executive for China, WW Licensing & Pricing: You would be responsible for providing complex strategy, analytical and contract negotiation support for the STB Business in EPG Commercial and Public Sector GSM accounts covered by China subsidiary You will participate in the negotiation of final terms and conditions necessary to close key volume license agreements, and you will work with Microsoft’s sales management and Licensing Specialists to develop the strategies and focus for increasing annuity penetration in these accounts.

Responsibilities: Your focus is increasing share and revenue in volume licensing for STB in China. You will provide the China General Managers, ATU managers, Licensing Specialists, Business Managers and field sales force with expert knowledge of Microsoft volume licensing programs, negotiation strategies and best practices to increase volume license sales. You will directly participate in and drive negotiating complex terms and conditions necessary to close agreements (these negotiations will be face-to-face, via phone and via video teleconference). You will make key decisions on agreements by applying complex licensing principles to reach successful sales solutions, including identifying and resolving agreement issues, developing and negotiating changes, recommending compromises and preparing contract amendments. Meanwhile, you will ensure that sales and negotiation strategies adhere to established guidelines, policies and legal standards. You will be expected to proactively identify and recommend solutions for improving the agreement development, negotiation and sales processes. You will act as a field-based feedback resource for providing Corporate with insights into product and program licensing.

Contacts: This position will have frequent contact with all levels of Microsoft personnel, including individuals in the following groups: Channel Marketing, Finance and Operations, Legal, Financial Services Group, Field Sales, Product Marketing and Product Groups. There will also be frequent customer contact and reseller contact.

Qualifications Recommended: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minimum 7 years of business experience (at least 5 years of directly applicable experience in software licensing, sales and marketing, operations management, finance, and/or contract negotiation/management or an equivalent combination of education and experience). MBA preferred. Candidate must possess excellent demonstrated decision-making, problem solving and negotiating skills. Good software industry and software licensing experience is a must. Experience in face-to-face negotiations of licensing contracts on behalf of large customers is a requirement. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills are also required. Strong attention to detail required. The successful candidate must be willing to travel within China, with occasional trips to other parts of Asia and the United States.
