Role Purpose / Description
Project/Team Introduction:
We are part of the Finance Reporting and Operational Accounting (FROA) IT operating under Corporate Functions. Our team supports the mission critical finance reporting systems which are pivotal to the Bank’s fulfillment of compliance and regulatory requirements. We have a diversified team located in multiple global locations and we are now looking for talented individual to join our dynamic team based in HSBC Technology Guangzhou.
Job Duties:
The job holder will have to perform the following duties:
- Participate actively in core code deployment and testing batch execution , Event , Incident & Change management
- Plan for production release logistics and execute accordingly.
- Provide expertise on distributed platforms, and any components required by projects.
- Collaborate with ADM on core defects resolution.
- Collaborate with ITID on environment setup and maintenance.
- Collaborate with counterparts at other international locations to tackle production support issues.
- Review system performance regularly and provide solution for improvement.
- Implement best practice suggested by Group and others to our own team.
- To work harmoniously and in collaboration with teams of peers across IT and business units with the common goal of providing quality customer service.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Essential:
- Support experience on distributed platforms such as UNIX commands and scripting, Data Stage, ORACLE PL/SQL, WAS, Control-M, TERADATA, JCL, Connect:Direct.
- Solid experience of analysis and trouble shooting for minimum 2 years.
- Understanding of data warehousing / data mart, ETL techniques and approaches.
- Ability to develop good working relationship with ADM and ITID partners.
- Good knowledge in Unix/Linux Shell script programming.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical discussion.
- Strong verbal and written English and listening skill.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Willing to work in non-office hours for implementation or support tasks.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Be innovative to tackle problems or provide solutions in different approaches.
- Be proactive to look for improvement in current system and practice.
Ideal Experience (following skills/experiences would be an added advantage):
- Prior experience in production support.
- Knowledge in Agile & DevOps practice.
- Knowledge of ITIL Processes
