PRODUCT MANAGER
Reports to
? Supply Chain Manager/Global Supply Chain Manager
Other stakeholders:
? Internal: Capacity Assurance Management, Business, Sustainability, Quality, Shipping, Global
Purchasing Organization, other Product Managers in Countries
? External: Suppliers
Accountability
The Product Manager is accountable to:
? Motivate, support & educate the team in accordance with company goals & routines
? Secure the supply chain for products with the capacity assurance team
? Establish methods and perform routine follow up in the team
Main Responsibilities
Team Leader
? Be a good role model /H&M leader and work on building the team into a top performing team
? Formulate the strategic plan together with the Global Supply Chain Manager & Supply Chain
Manager
? Ensure that all Business KPIs are aligned with goals such as Price/Lead Time/Sample Lead Time,
etc.
? Work with the supply chain in developing creative solutions to support BO demands in
Speed/Price/Lead Time/Sample Lead Time.
? Ensure that all quotations are being sent to the best suitable suppliers (according. to planning)
and that our price method is applied
? Guide the team and secure the system implementation. Supervise seniors and merchandisers to
make sure that all are using the same methods and tools
? Supervise the communication between the teams, suppliers and Global Purchasing Organization
? Check & follow up the workload of the departments. Make sure that the team is capable of
achieving the company goals now and in the future
? Maintain a general overview of the teams’ work performance and their need for education and
support
? Evaluate individual staff performance and work actively with feedback given and dialogue
? Work actively with regard to talent identification, staff development and succession planning
? Identify capability gaps (current and future) and work towards bridging these gaps through
performance management, staff development, strategic recruitment, etc.
? Your responsibility is to lead your team by example, always driven by our values and the ambition
to make people and business grow
? As an H&M leader you should focus on inspiration, delegation, feedback and motivation (other
elements of leadership are further described in the competencies relevant for your role)
Internal Communication and Cooperation
? Maintain tight cooperation with managers and seniors to ensure a smooth flow of information
throughout the whole organization with the aim to secure that goals are well synchronized
? Encourage merchandising teams to work closely with other team members to secure best
products for bulk production
? Share experience with the rest of the teams to improve and learn from the mistakes
Cooperation with the Buying Office
? Create good teamwork with the Global Purchasing Organization
? Work closely with purchasing managers
? Encourage the rest of the team to work very closely with the Global Purchasing Organization to
build trust
Cooperation with H&M Suppliers
? Evaluate the suppliers according to Supplier Relationship Management and follow them up in
meetings. Set clear business demands and commitments during the review of supplier
relationship management
? Formulate the production plan with the capacity assurance team
Education and Experience requirements
Education
? Preferably a degree in textiles/fashion design/art/finance
? Good command of English
? Be able to use Microsoft office applications
Work experience
? Preferably experience working in a production team with a strong fashion sense
? Relevant production experience, i.e. textiles/ garments
? Preferably experience in a similar position in a supplier or representative office
