Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspection Responsibilities:
Manages day to day product inspection operations activities.
?
Determines & communicates inspection schedule based on available resources and product risk. Maintains at least 50% or above in weekly inspections by sku & p.ovolume.
?
Communicates weekly Petmate inspection plans to stakeholders in US office.
?
Compiles weekly, monthly, annual reporting data on critical metrics. Communicates data weekly to stakeholders and US office.
?
Manages China inspection team for optimal performance. Trains, coaches and evaluates team members.
?
Reviews Supplier self-inspection reports, including; inline and final inspections prior to shipment release.
?
Facilitates resolution of any defect found during inspection with factory and stakeholders.
?
Facilitates Correct Action Report (CAR) resolution with suppliers for defective product issues found by China and US teams in a timely fashion.
?
Facilitates 8D Problem Solving method and is the leader of the process from issues occurring in China.
?
Regularly communicates inspection requirements to suppliers to ensure competence and engagement.
?
Reviews & makes recommendations toward improvements of inspection criteria for each category. Implements & communicates agreed upon improvements to inspection team and suppliers.
?
Assists in the budgeting of inspection related activities. Ensures travel & expenses are within budget.
 
Social Compliance Responsibilities:
Management of Social Compliance audits
?
Ensures Petmate code of conduct and social compliance is communicated to all suppliers.
?
Assists US Social Compliance Manager in the budgeting and planning of Social Compliance audits annually.
?
Communicates audit schedule and audit criteria to suppliers. Adheres to annual audit schedule.
?
Coordinates with designated third party quality service provider in the scheduling of Social Compliance audits.
?
Works with factory personnel/management to resolveany low score or non-compliance issues.
?
Reviews audit results and advises factory on corrective action completion. Ensures each factory meets deadlines and expectations for resolving Corrective Action Plans (CAP’s).
?
Visits factories and reviews any factories in consideration for Social Compliance and acceptable manufacturing practices.
Quality Product Testing Responsibilities:
Coordinates testing of raw materials & finished product per protocol requirements with designated third party lab
?
Communicates product testing requests internally and externally, reviews test reports and provides assistance with interpretation of results.
?
Follows through on completion of necessary request forms and submission by factory to third party lab.
?
Keeps abreast of and is well versed in requirements from the following: CPSC/CPSIA, ASTM F963, FTC, FDA, California Proposition 65 and International regulations and requirements such as REACH, WEE, CE Mark requirements and European Commissionlegislation.
?
Possesses strong skills to understand testing requirements, Petmate testing protocols,Customer/Retailer testing protocols and test methods at third party labs and factory level.
?
Supports US office with the explanation of test protocols, test methods and test requirements to factories and suppliers.
?
Facilitates communication and resolution of test failures.

Driver of continuous improvement in the supply base by communicating expectations toward performance metrics.
?
Collaborates with US team to review and build testing protocols, inspection protocols and social compliance metrics.
?
Transparent communication with US office regarding factory issues related to quality.
?
Communicates all Petmate and customer/retail partner quality initiatives, bulletins, manuals, memos and related requirements. Ensures complete understanding of these requirements by supply base.
?
Owner of resolution of China produced quality defects found in the US and overseer of steps on decision ofdisposition on product.
?
Qualifications:


Language, Reading & Speaking Skills: Ability to speak, read, write English and Mandarin Chineserequired. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information via spoken word and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and suppliers. Able to translate written information in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and over 10 years related experience and/or training; 4-5 years at managerial positions within these 8-10 years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Engineering background is preferred.
