Role Title: Senior Consultant Specialist

Business: Global Banking & Markets IT

Role Purpose / Description

The candidate will be working on the following tasks:

- New developments driven from the translation of Functional Specifications (FRD’s).

- Able to drive a technical solution from business requirement

- Creation of technical specifications where applicable

- Peer/Code reviewing across development independently managing assigned project deliverables against project plans

- Working with BA’s/SME’s to produce optimal delivery requirements

- Working with the business where necessary to facilitate new developments

- Assist with SIT or UAT testing and post implementation when applicable

- Examine techniques, systems and processes in use and determine appropriate changes to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency to meet business needs.

- Actively participate in team development mentoring and knowledge sharing

- Working with teammates to achieve “best practice” in development environment

- To take ownership of assigned projects and initiatives and to follow these through to resolution

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years trading platform development experience

- Minimum 10 years working experience

- Strong leadership skill, able to take technical decision and leading the team to success

- Capable of take ownership of project

- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills

- Having solid experience on system design and strong programming skills (ex: Java, C++, etc.)

- Experience with Unix/Linux platform and hands on Linux command, shell scripting.

- Excellent problem solving skills

- Positive ‘can do’ attitude and being self-motivated.

- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple work threads at one time

- Excellent communication skills in English (both Oral and Written)

- Good understanding on investment bank business knowledge (trading, financing etc.)

- Cantonese speaking would be an advantage

- Experience of project manager would be an advantage

- Experience of working with global teams across regions would be an advantage
