Role Title: Consultant Specialist

Business: Global Banking & Markets IT

Role Purpose / Description

HSBC Securities Services provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic fund services including fund administration, global custody, corporate trust and loan agency and direct custody settlement and services.

HSS Direct Custody operates in 30+ markets across 5 regions, services Assets under Custody of USD3 trillion, processes in excess of 1.8 million transactions each year and generates revenues of nearly USD1 billion per annum.

Systems include GHSS which provides a comprehensive range of back office functions for securities processing and support the Bank's world class multi-market global and sub custody and clearing services to our global custodian, international and domestic broker dealer, institutional investor clients. It has been extensively developed to provide an efficient and economical platform with straight through processing of transaction and corporate events at the core heart of the system. Also include reporting tools for daily reporting utilising SQL, SYBASE and Oracle database with web based front end tools as well as Microsoft Office products.

Job Duties:

· Analyze business needs and provide IT solutions to meet business requirements

· Design and develop IT solutions according to established standards and best practices.

· Lead a sub-development team and play as a supervisory and project management role.

· Arrange and conduct testing to ensure the quality of deliverables

· Provide system support of business applications and resolve problems that may occur during business hours and non-business hours. Ensuring the service availability according to the Service Level Agreement (SLA)

· Provide on-going support and maintenance on existing IT solutions. Participating in service continuity management exercise, including disaster recovery drill

· Assist in ensuring system and day to day operation adherence to group Compliance and audit requirements.

· Maintain a good working relationship with users

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

· University graduate with a degree in IT or related discipline

· Possess at least than 7 years’ IT experience in software design, development and testing

· 5 years and above in ILE RPG and iSeries experience could be considered

· Sound knowledge on securities custody would be an advantage

· Strong system and business analysis skills with excellent knowledge of project life cycle and application development process

· Self-motivated with a proactive and outgoing personality

· Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills

· Good command of written and spoken English, with strong communication skills to work with partners globally

· An adaptable team player, able to work under pressure in a dynamic working environment

· Ability to work under pressure, fast learner.

· Willing to take shift work and odd hours support responsibility
