Role Title: Consultant Specialist

Business: Global Banking & Markets IT

Role Purpose / Description

? Assist development manager in delivering the global strategy across all PostTrade SBL IT applications

? Guide staff development and assist line managers to promote the highest professional standards within the team and across different regions

? New developments in Java and Perl driven from the translation of Functional Specifications (FRD's).

? Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIM, ISR, etc) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour.

? Creation of technical specifications where applicable

? Peer/Code reviewing across development Independently managing assigned project deliverables against project plans

? Production of software delivery artefacts and all relevant accompanying documentation

? Assisting in designing and overseeing execution of the test plans

? High level of Quality Control, through use of JUnit or other tools

? Working with BA's/SME's to produce optimal delivery requirements

? Working with the business where necessary to facilitate new developments

? Progress and status reporting to immediate management for owned work streams

? Introduce new techniques, products, services, technologies, standards and tools where needed

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

Essential

? Strong Server/UI side Java developer, using Java 6/7/8, Spring (JDBC, WebMVC, JMS, JMX(Mbeans), Integration, SpringBoot), Openadaptor, Hibernate, Javascript, JMS (MQ series), Servlets/JSP/JSTL, log4j, JAXB, XMLBeans, MDBs, Testing with JUnit. Project building with Maven, continuous integration experience.

? Strong Perl skills

? Strong Unix scripting experience

? Strong SQL and stored procedure experience (Sybase or Oracle or SQL Server)

? Results orientated with good communication & interpersonal skills

? Excellent problem solving skills - Ability to interpret Functional specifications and create technical specifications for development

? Positive 'can do' attitude.

? Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple work threads at one time

? Good command of English

Beneficial

? Experience of FIS (previously Sungard) GlobalOne application is desirable

? Equity Finance domain experience (Stock Borrowing/lending, Collateral management, lifecycle)

? Knowledge of Cash Equities domain

? Experience of working with Global teams

? Exposure to JIRA or RTC and Nexus

? Knowledge of SWIFT messaging protocols

? Exposure to web GUI framework e.g. GWT, Sencha GXT, Bootstrap

? Exposure to C#.Net

? Exposure to SAP BusinessObjects

? Working with Websphere 7 (and above), Tomcat etc. application servers
