Role Title: Senior Software Engineer, Development
Business: Payments and PCM
GLOBAL PAYMENT SYSTEM (GPS) is the HSBC group strategy system for payment processing, it is a multi-currency payments platform enabling customers to submit global high value (international and priority) payments, and low value (bulk or single) payments in different currencies. Payment Services delivers IT solutions that support initiatives for business counterparts in Payments and Cash Management (PCM).
To contribute in successful delivery of projects by providing Technical / Application advice to multiple project teams. The responsibilities entail areas such as conducting feasibility studies, requirement analysis, designing, development and implementation for Global Payment System (GPS).
Role Purpose / Description
1. Interact with users and customers to Identify, verify and document functional, non-functional and technical requirements.
2. Provide guidance to programmers during system development
3. Deploy the completed system.
4. Provide technical oversight of applications product and environment management for all application environments
5. Apply global technical policies, processes, procedures and tools to make the delivery simple, better and faster.
6. Define and/or implement process improvement opportunities to strengthen quality, commonality and alignment across the Global payment System teams.
7. Pursue continuous learning consistent with the movement in job requirements, changes in technology, and changes in the organization. e.g. join internal/external technical forum , providing knowledge sharing across different departments within the group.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
? University graduate with IT related majors.
? A minimum of 4 years’ professional experience in software development
? Strong knowledge on Linux, C++, Shell, Script, SQL, Oracle database.
? Strong analytical processing and multi-dimensional analytics capacity.
? Experience on payment processing(remittance) domain, e.g. RTGS, SWIFT, fast payment etc.
? Solid understanding of SDLC.
? Experience or Knowledge on Maiframe(COBOL, JCL, CICS) is a plus.
? Excellent communication, both written and spoken.
? A highly-motivated individual with positive and pro-active attitude, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
? Ability to learn fast and rapidly assimilate new business requirements.
