Position Title: Material Supervisor
The Role: Lead a small team of people to successfully implement purchasing, supplier development, production planning, and inventory control.
Key Activities:
1. Purchasing – ensure that purchasing is conducted professionally and that we attain an optimal balance between purchase costs and quality/reliability.
2. Supplier Development – continuously seek improvements in quality, delivery, and cost efficiencies with our suppliers.
3. Inventory analysis and control – ensure purchasing practices optimize the company’s inventory position: both inventory values, accuracy, and aging profile. Conduct regular inventory counts.
4. Planning – Develop monthly production plans for own factory and key suppliers, and achieve high levels of OTIF.
Environment: The person will be located at our modern, customized offices at Tianan Technology Park, Panyu. The company culture is open and predominantly westernized. The person will be required to travel within a 100Km radius to visit various suppliers, agents, and our manufacturing facilities.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Measures of Success:
1. Customer Satisfaction levels and Order Delivery on-time rates
2. Plan completion rates (monthly)
3. Purchasing savings (PPV)
4. Supplier delivery performance
5. Supplier quality performance
6. Inventory value relative to sales.
7. Inventory accuracy
8. Inventory Ageing profile
The Person:
1. The successful candidate should be smart, hardworking, and committed to finding innovative ways to achieve success.
2. Adequate written and spoken English is essential.
3. At least 5 years’ experience in one or more of the listed activities are required.
4. The person must have a driving license and be a competent driver.
Special Note: Integrity and honesty are core values in our organization. Any form of corruption will not be tolerated.
Remuneration: A base salary consistent with the candidate’s talents and aligned to market rates will be offered. Monthly travel and communication allowances are also included. Performance bonuses are paid monthly, quarterly and annually based on personal, team, and company performance. Generous annual leave and personal insurance benefits are also provided.
