Position Title: Applications Engineer-China



Revision Date: Feb.2011


SUMMARY: The individual in this position will be the direct technical support of Labsphere China operations. This person will be responsible for ensuring customer centricity, and satisfaction of Labsphere's services and products. This person will assist in identifying and supporting superior solutions for new and existing opportunities of Labsphere China.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



2 Provides and coordinates technical support and training to both end users or partners

2 Evaluates various applications and product improvement opportunities and recommends specific actions, time frames, solutions and resolutions.

2 Assist regional Sales Manager in dealing with customers' questions and concerns that are beyond the capability of the salesperson to answer.

2 Travel to potential customers' sites to demonstrate instruments and install equipment and conduct seminars.

2 Assist marketing manager in writing sales and applications literature.

2 Generate new product ideas and assist in designing new product

2 Be a key, proactive member of Labsphere China. Look for new opportunities to grow the business.

2 Participate in or lead cost and process improvement movements.

2 Attend appropriate conferences and trade shows.

2 Other duties as assigned



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires extensive travel to customer opportunity sites with the local Regional Sales Representative, to conceive and articulate product concepts and applications, as well periodic travel from home office to Labsphere, Inc in North Sutton, NH USA.




EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Optical Engineering, or equivalent, with 3-5 years of experience in the semiconductor application, electro-optics, or similar developing fields. Working experience in solid state lighting and LED industry will be a plus.




LANGUAGE SKILLS

Primary language requirement: Mandarin, secondary English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
