Project/Team Introduction

HSBC Global Banking & Markets (GB&M) is a leading player in foreign exchange market trading foreign exchange 24 hours a day in over 60 countries - our technolgy platforms and technologists are instrumental in making this possible. To meet our businesses demand for agility in the market we agressivly utilise agile, continuious delivery, and devops practices along with a culture of continious improvement in everything we do.

We are part of a global team spanning Guangzhou, London, Hong Kong and New York working to become the world's leading foreign exchange platform that must be reliable & super fast, while dealing with high volumes of transactions. This means we are continuously tackling complex and interesting problems and need motivated and high calbre technolgists of all disciplines who can learn from and apply industry best practices.

Qualifications

?Have solid Front-end development experience with one or more of JVM based languages (Java, Cloujure, etc), web based technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, etc), and can bring experience of a wide range of tools and technologies to the team
?Can establish an understanding of relevant business domains to help shape requirements to avoid unnecessary complexity
?Contribute, influence and develop technical & architectural strategy with wider organizational engagement
?Engage stakeholders across various teams and functional areas and with different levels of technical ability
?Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other team members to high quality cost effective development
?Have a strong desire to share and promote best practice across functional areas at department level
?Are passionate about technology and look for opportunities to learn and bring new ideas to the team
?Have an innovative yet pragmatic approach to creating business and technology solutions
?Want to work in a cross function delivery team and take end to end accountability for quality delivery and operation
?Focused on delivering quality, applying practices such as specification-by-example, TDD, build and test automation
?Maximize the value they deliver through developing a deep understanding of, and close working relationship with the FX business
