We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this dedicated team in the role of Senior Technology Support Engineer.
Introduction:
HSBC Global Banking and Markets IT department provides technology solutions to support its Global Banking and Markets business worldwide. Within the department, Global Production Support team is responsible for providing production services to end users.
Banking and Capital Financing (BCF) IT Production Support teams are located in China, and India. Collaboration and coordination with Global Teams is essential for providing support for Global Users.
Global Banking is one of the five main businesses within HSBC's Global Banking and Markets division. We serve the needs of major corporate and institutional clients around the world. Our collective knowledge of global economies, industries and institutions, coupled with the understanding of local markets and cultures worldwide, helps us deliver innovative, integrated financial solutions to our clients.
Global Capital Financing is a joint venture between Global Banking and Global Markets, bringing together our capital raising product capabilities onto a single platform.
Job Duties:
·Provide daily Technical Support for BCF Applications working closely with HSBC Infrastructure teams globally to manage and ensure all the application are stable and running in good status
·Ensuring legacy and new implementations follow best practise design standards in line with business requirements
·Monitor service availability of all BCF applications, undertake relevant incident management as well as work towards continual improvement to existing services
·Provide application and technical support for Product Controllers and Business Users.
·Act as conduit to external parties, within and outside of HSBC, for support services including HTSE, 3rd party vendors etc.
·Be an owner to critical applications, arrange required daily support items, and assign them out properly to 1st line support, meanwhile handle escalated items.
·Involved in Incident Management and Problem Management, to report on service availability, record and log incidents in a timely manner, as well as to communicate to IT and user community.
·Involved in Change Management, to govern and review any changes before introducing to Production Environment, work closely with development team to under the change.
Candidate Specifications:
1) Has good IT background
2) Experience in one or more areas of Unix, Linux, Java and Scripting.
3) Experience in one or more arrears of Sybase, Oracle and other DB systems.
4) Proficiency in verbal and written English communication skills (frequent communication in oral English with other parties will be required).
5) Work under pressure.
6) Self-motivated.
7) Find logical solutions to problems and manage to resolution. Able to response to production problem with good sense of judgment between escalation and further investigation.
8) Understand and attain technical knowledge from on the job experience.
9) Good interpersonal and communication skills. Be pragmatic and flexible with an open minded approach to dealing with teams with differences in terms of geographic location, language and culture and relationship and proximity to the users.
10) With experience in GB&M products, application systems production support, Perl. PL/SQ, Control M and HTML would be added advantage.
