Position overview:
? Test hardware, firmware and/or software products and systems.
? Verifies that product operates as designed.
? Provides technical expertise in testing and product knowledge.
? Provides accurate estimates and reports of test progress.
? Writes Test Procedures and Test Plans.
? This position requires RF (Wifi/Bluetooth) experience.


Responsibilities:
? Develop test plans with assistance.
? Design and set up test fixtures with assistance.
? Create test procedures to thoroughly test wireless printers to 802.11b/g and Bluetooth industry standards.
? Apply appropriate standard testing methods at various stages of the design and development process.
? Develop knowledge of specialized testing methods. Proficient knowledge of product and product cost drivers.
? Proficient with standard engineering tools.
? Develop proficiency with specialized engineering tools. Make recommendations for new test procedures. Recommend actions to maintain test progress.
? Perform moderately complex root cause analysis with support from within department and/or from Engineering. Complete test projects in a timely manner.
? Perform moderately complex data analysis.
? Document results in test reports.
? Provide technical leadership to test technicians.
? Direct and monitor test technicians to ensure DVT schedules are achieved as committed.

Requirements:
? Proficient with computers and experienced with spreadsheet and word processing programs.
? Effective oral and written communication skills.
? Good planning and organizational skills.
? Working knowledge of lab equipment.
? Working knowledge of basic job related policies and procedures.
? Developing expertise, resolves most routine issues.
? Receives specific instructions for new, difficult, or unusual assignments.
? Receives General Supervision on routine work but Direct Supervision on new projects or assignments.
? Works on a limited variety of problems of limited scope using defined procedures and practices.
? Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments.
? Work is reviewed for technical accuracy.
? Error may cause minor delays in schedules or rework impacting own operational area.
? Demonstrated proficiency allows project to stay on schedule.
? Makes suggestions for process improvements.
? Leads projects of minor scope and impact.
? Resolves a limited variety of moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of straightforward factors, straightforward analysis and consideration of a variety of straightforward factors.
? Able to resolve issues independently with the help of higher level engineers or manager as needed.
? Transmits and receives information related to role in order to carry out duties.
? May have contact with stakeholders in order to resolve problems of limited complexity.
? Builds productive working relationships internally and externally if stakeholder facing.
? Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
? Two to five years experience developing and designing test plans from specifications.
? Significant experience in 802.11b/g and Bluetooth wireless protocols and industry standards
? Some knowledge desired in RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology
? Some knowledge desired in various card encoding technologies such as Mag Encoder and Smart Card
