The British School of Guangzhou is looking for a suitably qualified applicant as a Leaning Support Teaching Assistant in primary school.

All applicants will need to havev a degree, an excellent level of English and relevant experience working with children. Most importantly all applicants will need to promote a friendly and well-organised learning environment where children can feel secure, happy and can enjoy being challenged. This position is particularly suitable for recently qualified teaching graduates who would like the opportunity to work in an English-speaking environment.

We are specifically looking for someone who will:
* To provide further support to our current ‘Special Educational Needs’ Department and its team, which currently comprises of a coordinator (SENCO) and a Speech & Language Therapist.
* To be able to work with students 1:1 or in small groups, inside and outside of the classroom.
* To work under the direction of the SENCO, Class Teacher, Year Leader, Head of Phase and ultimately the School Principal.
* To work with students that have ‘Individual Education Plans’ (IEPs) and to implement strategies that help them to meet their specific needs. To be able to continuously liaise with school staff (SENCO, Speech & Language Therapist, Class Teacher) and with families and any external agencies involved.
* The post holder will be expected to have some expertise in childcare and will be expected to make use of their specific skills and talents. There will be some need to interpret information or situations and to solve varied problems. The TA must be willing and able to work in a team and abide by team decisions.
