Humanscale, the world leader in office ergonomics, based in New York, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work with the Sourcing & Project team in Asia and suppliers in Shanghai China.

The Product Engineer will take the whole ownership of responsible products introduction to Asia market, including product technical support, product data maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOM) / SOR (Special Order Request) /ECN, product certification and product documentation.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-sales and post sales technical support, product guide from customer descriptions to supplier purchase codes. Bridge gaps between customer demand and supply through BOM look up.
Create BOM for Asia SOR. Lead and follow up ECN release and implementation process in Asia market.
Supplier production set up and improvement in Asia. New products introduction from oversea plants to Asia site. Fully support on work instruction, fielding training, and continuous improvement plan.
Organize and maintain product data, drawings, test specification.
Lead on site problem resolution with coordination of cross functional teams, support the technical analysis process, propose corrective actions, and support implementation.
Collaborate and coordinate with oversea engineering, sourcing, customer service, quality, SCM and sales to achieve product responsible targets in Asia market.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent.
Experience of supplier management, well communication and negotiation skills.
Good team player with proactive attitude. Strong product engineering or R&D background.
At least 5 years relative experience in ISO9001/TS16949 manufacturing industry.
Software knowledge in computer assisted engineering and design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), MS Project, and MS Office.
Ability to use statistical tools for reliability, efficiency, qualification testing in guiding suppliers to the proper set up of assembly lines with consistent quality output and cost efficiency.
Excellent English and Chinese communication skills.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
