We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this dedicated team in the role of Senior Business Analyst.

Role Purpose
Serve as a liaison between unit department and application systems department or outside organizations in defining business systems requirements, procedures and practices to implement changes to increase the efficiency of the assigned business unit. Oversee technical related projects and tasks as required.

Leadership & Teamwork
? Develop and clarifies specifications for system related projects to ensure business unit needs are identified and communicated and to ensure technical programmers understand the functional requirements of the business unit. Confer periodically with both business unit and technical programmers throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects or project segments to track progress, identify changes and to ensure changes are communicated to both the business unit and technical staff.
? When assigned as task manager, manage task to assure objectives are met on time and within cost. Provide support to approved projects as a project team member, under direction of the project manager.
? Develop and conducts regular presentations for management on initiatives and programs.
? May coordinate the development of and oversee user acceptance testing programs.
? Maintain proficiency in the analysis of business operations.
? Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.
         
Operational Effectiveness & Control
? Provide recommendations and information for the preparation of project plans. Ensures projects are implemented on time and within cost. Evaluate performance of project team when assigned and reports performance upon project completion to management.
? Conduct analyses and evaluations of business systems needs and projects to automate and increase business unit effectiveness and efficiency.
? Participate in the development of new systems, programs, and projects. Ensure the communication of operational impact and training needs to management as required.
? Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks.
? Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Management of Risk
? Ensure compliance of both general and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) compliance controls as well as operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
? Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Role Dimensions (e.g. balance sheet size, lending/expenditure limits, size/volume of transactions, budget. in USD’000)
? This position is not primarily a User Acceptance Tester. If over 20% of incumbent time is spent on User Acceptance Testing, the Compensation Analyst needs to be notified to review exemption status.
                                                
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
? A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
? Business Administration or related field and three to five years of practical business experience, with demonstrated experience in operations analysis and implementation.
? Above average written, verbal, and interpersonal communications aptitude.
? The capability to independently complete assigned projects and orchestrate the work of others assigned to larger, more complicated projects.
? Individual departments and/or business units may require specific qualifications or experience of the same degree, but specific to that business area.
