Purpose of the Position:
The supply and inventory planner is responsible for securing the supply from global source locations including plants and DC, and meeting the service level requirements for customers in AP region. The planner works with manufacturing plants, planning manager in the region and the global supply chain planning team to develop and optimize safety stock for AP distribution center to achieve targeted service level. The planner works closely with customer service, logistics, the commercial team and the regional demand planner to understand, respond and expedite actual and projected forecast changes, new business, and key customer requirements. The planner is a key participant and contributor to the Sales & Operations Planning Process (S&OP). The planner works closely with regional supply chain management to balance cost and service objectives. As part of inventory management, the planner will minimize SLOB inventory and proactively address any issues. The position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all applicable master data related to Inventory Planning and inventory optimization in SAP, to achieve optimal service.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Ongoing Tasks
* Develop supply plan with regular supply gap review and execute inventory planning, and optimizing overall finished goods inventory to support Asia business
* Engaged on S&OP process and plant supply review weekly and monthly
* Identify potential (high) business impact issues and clearly communicate the issue to the management with solutions and action plan
* Supply response in time to demand spikes, production shortages, transitions, etc. for required service and consistent delivery
* Regular review inventory planning alerts and optimize inventory plan
* Document and implement standard procedures in QMS, and able to initiate and lead projects to improve with PEx tools
* Be an active member of cross-functional teams focused on process improvement, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution
* Update KPIs on a regular level, and take the initiative with data analysis to identify opportunities and improve
* Regular SLOB review and minimize inventory write-off
* Finished goods replenishment and procurement including MSR / PO placement, etc.
* Effectively communicate with stakeholders within Corning and work intensively with other departments (e.g. customer service, logistics, division planning) EHS
* Each employee regardless of their position at Corning is required to assume responsibility for their own actions and to take positive steps in assisting their follow workers in support of a safe working environment.
* Employee is required to ensure that the Safety Rules and the Standard Operating Procedures are obeyed.
* Employee is required to immediately record and investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents/near missed and to take the appropriate action.
* Employee is required to rectify any condition considered unsafe.
* Employee is required to pro-actively support the Health and Safety Team.
* Use knowledge of security, health and safety procedures to develop policies and practices to ensure safety and security for employees and goods and a safe and healthy environment on site.
* Continuously improve the overall health and safety performance of the company.
