"Day to Day Responsibilities:
Analyze and manage energy and industrial gases data, develop strategies, negotiate contracts and adhere to project schedules.
Work with the Global Energy Management (GEM) and Sourcing Teams to develop and implement cost reduction, reliability improvement, carbon reduction, and other energy and industrial gas projects.
Strategically manage energy and industrial gases sourcing across plants. This involves managing contracts, managing suppliers through Supplier Relationship Management, ensuring reliability, managing data entry into Corning saving tracker system, and preparing short-term and long-term market and price forecast per business requirement.
Support and provide input on the development of an energy savings portfolio by working directly with Corning businesses, the Corporate Global Strategic Sourcing Team, and the Global Energy Management Team. Provide the leadership and direction to implement the savings projects.
Establish effective working relationships with division management, plant managers, plant staffs, facilities managers, and GSM managers/buyers. Communicate energy and industrial gases market data, energy regulatory matters and changes in energy policies proactively to the affected organizations.
Provide leadership and manage utility infrastructure installations for plant expansions and new sites.
Develop and maintain professional business relationships with utility executives, government officials and economic development agencies across region.
Leverage supply base of industrial gases worldwide in order to achieve lowest possible costs.

 
Education & Experience
Bachelor/Master degree in engineering or business required.
More than 5 years of utility sourcing and utility facilities experience.

 
Required Skills

Fluent in Mandarin and English. Japanese is a plus.
Knowledge of utility practices, policies, and procedures in China, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea.
Knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure (power circuits, substations, transformers, switchgear, natural gas delivery, pipelines, industrial gases, etc.)
Effective and demonstrated negotiations, interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
Ability to work independently and in a matrix organization.
Project management skills.
Supplier Relationship Management experience.
Experience managing outside energy consultants.
Knowledge of chilled water, industrial water, and waste water infrastructure.
Facility construction and management experience.
