The Regional General Manager – Central China reports directly to the Senior Vice President Operations, Greater China & Mongolia, the Regional General Manager (RGM) has responsibility for the total performance for its portfolio of properties across the Central China region, for implementing agreed Hilton Worldwide strategies, ensuring the business has the correct focus and delivers the right level of profitability. The focus is on both existing hotels and opening hotels.

The RGM will have a team of highly experienced senior executives including Regional Director of Finance, Regional Director of Human Resources. The RGM must ensure he/she recruits, develops and motivates all senior managers and executives so there is a clear focus on ensuring regional objectives are met within the overall strategic and commercial plans for the Central China region.

What will I be doing?

Across the portfolio there are a number of opportunity/challenges including:-

1. To carefully assess each hotel in terms of maximising its profitability/potential and devise plans with local management as appropriate.

2. To ensure that quality standards are maintained across all properties so that respective brand standards are maintained.

3. To consider the opportunity for introducing new brands across the region - operating in a multi-brand environment will be a very different and more exciting place to work.

4. To identify geographic areas for growth within the Central China region.

5. To develop the teams of new Hilton Worldwide properties.

6. To work with hotel owners and ensure relationships are robust and that Hilton’s values/standards are maintained.

7. With hotels geographically spread to be sure the RGM maintains a high level of visibility – physically being seen in hotels on a regular basis.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to direct collaborative efforts and marshal resources throughout the Hilton Worldwide organization, including internal resources, external resources and other constituent groups as appropriate with aim of furthering Company goals.
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, as well as excellent written communication skills.
Ability to analyze financial data as required in order to make strategic and tactical decisions.
Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.
Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities in keeping with core strategic goals.
Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
Ability to advocate and implement professional development for self, direct reports and others, including capability to work with peers and other resources to provide development and mentoring opportunities; includes adherence to organization’s standards for performance feedback.
Ability to evaluate and identify opportunities from a strategic perspective, including ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet organization’s core strategic goals.
Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into position and the department and provide effective training to subordinates for on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics and professional development.
Budget development and management skills, including the ability to track expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual budgets.
Knowledge of business mathematics, including ability to calculate percentage changes and averages/weighted averages; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including ability to understand/manipulate basic spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently and manage the independent work of other team members as appropriate; includes the ability to recognize need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.
Required Qualifications
· Four (4) year college degree or significant work experience in lieu thereof
· Significant experience in hotel industry, including at least ten (10) years
of management experience

Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced degree preferred
· Fifteen (15) years of partnership and/or hospitality industry experience
preferred
