Our client is a famous European owned enterprise in high performance material.

Job title: Automation Engineer

Main role of the Job:
·Participate in the test automation tool selection process.
·Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed
design documents.
·Perform static analysis of source code using complexity metrics.
·Develop and execute automated tests using the selected tool, which will likely
require programming in C, C++, Java, or some scripting language.
·Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats.
·Design process improvement projects and lead in-house automation if needed.
·Keep abreast of latest developments in industrial automation technology and
introduce them to plant wide operations to achieve cost savings and improve
productivity.
·Participate in Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Programs to improve OEE.
·Keep track of engineering changes and update all documents.
·Assist in setting up new machines and transferring equipment at different plants.
·Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other
project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed;
i.e., perform manual static testing.
·Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the latest techniques
in test automation; e.g., data-driven testing.
·Work with the maintenance & production teams to capture and reuse automated Unit
Test Cases, Test Stubs and Drivers, and other Development test objects.
·Participate in the Change Control Board to identify the quality implications of
known bugs and the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing
process.
·Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects
developed and test environments used.
·Research and document bug reports following agreed-upon processes immediately
upon discovery of a quality problem.
·Update test execution status following agreed-upon processes as part of
regularly-scheduled test status updates.
·Trace test cases and results back to specific quality risks.
·Assist the Maintenance Manager in the creation of test project status reports and
metrics (e.g., Test Dashboard).
·Provide the Maintenance Manager with accurate and precise estimates for assigned
task duration, along with confidence levels and foreseeable dependencies.
·Assist the maintenance manager in preparing test plans, budgets, and schedules.
·Provide technical guidance to junior-level.
·Provide the Maintenance manager with performance assessments for assigned junior
Personnel.

Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree.
·Certification in testing tools or testing skills desirable.
·Five or more years' experience in test automation, with at least one year of that
experience in a Unix Web/database/application server-side browser-based
application environment.
·Equivalent combination of education and experience. A thorough knowledge of
engineering principles, concepts, and trends affecting equipment.
·Industrial drawing experience.
·Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the
following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, AutomationDirect,
Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, etc.; and HMI or SCADA programming and
configuration of any of the following software packages Wonderware, Rockwell,
Intelltion, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc.
·Experience in reading and red-lining PI&D drawing.
·Experience in a continuous improvement/ ISO regulated plant would be an asset
·A demonstrated career commitment to testing is preferred. The candidate should
show a familiarity with the latest testing theory and practice, a commitment to
on-going learning about the field, and a history of applying useful testing concepts
in previous positions.
·More extensive experience with word processing, content management, and
document management systems is a plus.
·Experience in Automotive, or Water/Wastewater industries is a plus.
·Both Mandarin & English fluent speaker.
·Panel design and layout, wiring schematic capabilities are expected with this
position.
·Knowledge of PC controlled machines with PLC programming skills.
·Good knowledge of motor drivers.
·Proficiency in hardware and software designs and troubleshooting.
·Solid understanding of computer programming and software development since they
frequently work with computers to program processes.
·Able to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests, stay
current on technology.
·Creative thinkers to design automated systems.
·Engineering leadership.
·Ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices.
·Able to provide detailed documentation upon project completion.
·Good professional working relationships.
·Effectively balance curiosity about tests, test results, and bugs with project
constraints on budget and schedule.
·Show initiative in setting and meeting goals within an environment of managed
change.
·Familiarity of the underlying architecture of a multi-tier browser-based application is
required, including operating systems, servers, networking, and browsers.
·Programming, system administration, or database administration experience is a
plus.
·At least some knowledge of word processing is required.
·Ability to work effectively and harmoniously as part of an independent test team
within a project-service-organization context is required.
