Requirements
The Bose Home Entertainment Division (HED) Design Services team is looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Designer. In this role, you will serve as an engineering team member providing CAD modeling and documentation services. Your contributions will assist Bose in developing innovative new technologies and bring meaningful new benefits to Bose customers. Customer satisfaction, both internal and external will lead to success in this position. Duties of this position include:
? Provide service to HED Advanced Development, Product Development and Continuous Engineering.
? Create/update mechanical CAD documentation for injection molded plastic, stamped and cast metal parts using Siemens NX8.0 and Microsoft Office tools.
? Create and maintain bills of materials.
? Create and process Engineering Change Notifications.
? Check documentation for clarity, completeness, and conformance to Bose standards.
? Provide CAD modeling and/or mechanical design support for both new and existing designs.
? Estimate duration and track progress of multiple, concurrent tasks.
? Assistance with engineering test fixture design, product testing and data collection as required.
? Work independently with direction from multiple project engineers.
Skills
Preferred Candidate:
? Demonstrated knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)
? Proficient with surface/solid modeling MCAD system (NX preferred).
? Good project management skills with ability to make progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
? Working knowledge of injection molded and sheet metal part design.
? Experience with PLM / PDM systems preferably Windchill 10.
? Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
? Familiar working with electronic enclosures, PCBs, and ECAD/MCAD transfers.
? Experience in an engineering lab environment developing fixtures and executing DoE’s using multiple measurement techniques
? Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with superiors, customers and peers.
? High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
? The desire to learn and stretch capabilities with new tools and tasks to grow in responsibility.
? Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
Education
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus 5+ years’ work experience preferably with high volume products.
