Key responsibilities：

Purpose
The Plant Launch Manager (PLM) is the Project Manager for the Plant's Launch Program Cycle Plans. The PLM is responsible for coordinating and leading a team of Launch Leaders, who are embedded in the functional organizations with in the plant, and are focused on launch. The PLM will interface directly with the Plant's Operating Committee as required, and will work through them and their respective Area Launch Leaders to ensure plant involvement in launch and success of new model introductions.
Main Tasks
Responsible for launching all new vehicle programs VCDQ Plant. The position responsibilities include:
？ Representing the Plant Manager and Plant Operating Committee in all Launch related activities from pre PS through FSR and provides the "Voice of the Plant".
？ Select and develop the plant launch organization.
？ Provide direction and leadership to the plant launch team.
？ Develop, implement and track all new product launches (project management), including workforce readiness status (production & skilled trades).
？ Provide input to launch plan & timing development to ensure it works within plant realities
？ Provide input to launch budget development to ensure that it provides required resources to allow plant to deliver launch targets
？ Ensure balance out of old model and ramp up of new model is feasible and reflected in the launch budget
？ Provide the Plant’s needs, wants and lessons learned into the program early
？ Identifies early facility and tooling requirements
？ Schedule and facilitate Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
？ Identify training requirements and ensure budget allocated for any new technologies being introduced with the program
？ Support Change Control
？ Supports the AIMS/OTG process
？ Participate in Gateway reviews
？ Work with New Model Programs to secure launch team facilities at the plant location
？ Support the development of the prototype & pre-launch control plans
？ Provide early workforce involvement and input to the launch program
？ Coordinate workforce involvement in tooling reviews and equipment buyoffs
？ Manage all build activities performed in the Plant to ensure that current production is not compromised
？ Execution of the production control plan
？ Co-lead gated launch process
？ Lead Plant Readiness reviews
？ Provide input to weekly program health assessments (LQOS)
？ Co-lead signoff of launch team exit and transition to PVT
？ Provide input to the documentation and communication of lessons learned
？ Responsible for ensuring workforce readiness for new product launch
？ Lead 25 mile drive process
？ Secure that fthe complete maintenance process : input to the maintenance system (Maximo) ,spare parts ,mainteance instruction & plans is in place .
Travel required to support launch program activities.

Qualification：
Responsibility
Responsible for delivering on all Plant Launch Team requirements as defined in VCC's Launch Quality Operating System (LQOS).
Authority
The role has the authority to represent the production Plant Manager in all launch related activities.
Competence Requirements
Undergraduate degree in engineering preferred. Masters degree preferred.
Requires "actual running production" experience/knowledge.
Skilled in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
