Goals:
? Manage, co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Estimating Organization within the Sales Support Center
? Manage a team of estimators to complete accurate estimates on-time to meet customer deadlines.
? Ensure that all estimating process steps are followed.
? Gather and implement best practices and tools from field organization that will improve estimating processes, streamline activities and reduce costs while developing a consistent and accurate deliverable.
? Drive Cost Effective estimations (still matching customer requirements) especially for highly completive bids.
? Monitor and manage work within the estimating organization, including recruitment and resourcing of staff to manage current and future needs of the business.
? Workload leveling as needed in order to provide services equally across the Pole
? Provide daily management of Estimating resources in the utilizing HPD tools and effective management principles
? Coordination of all Sales Support Estimating activities within the Sales Support Center
? Directly participate in cost estimating and quote development when required especially for complex packages.
Key Deliverables
? Assist in the development of Estimates tailored solutions and value propositions for supported projects
? Work with the Solution Advisor and Bid Manager to ensure that the engineered solution meets Job requirements by monitoring and controlling designed scope against the project specifications.
? Participate in opportunity and account, planning and strategy sessions
? Develop and implement training plan for Estimating team, execute plan to ensure skills and capabilities of team meets or exceeds job requirements
? Participate in the development of training presentations and content for Estimators
? Provide performance reviews and career development for Estimators to maximize their benefit to the organization
? Determine proper staffing levels based on geography, vertical markets and solution sets
? Coordinate workflow and support across all Estimators to ensure field sales support needs are met
Responsibilities
Business Relationships: As an integral part of the Sales Support Center work with the Sales Professionals, Operations, and SSC personnel to provide the necessary estimating support in the pursuit of service and project work within the assigned geographical area. Engage with customers in a consultative capacity exploring their needs and tailoring estimates to meet these needs. In support of the business, interact with internal resources to ensure the voice of the customer is communicated internally.
Sales Process: Continuously qualify and assign work within the estimating function in order to meet deadlines for overall solution development and final proposal.
Customers: Engage customers as needed to support solution development and Estimating.
People Management: Is a team player working with many Sales Professionals and Bid Managers in assigned geographic areas. Acts as a resource in support of the sale to provide timely and accurate estimating.
Leadership: Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to the team in the Pre-Sales Engineering and Estimating Functions of the Sales Support Center.
Results: Properly staff functions to provide accurate and timely deliverables while maintaining high productivity and a quality output.

Experience
? BA/BS Degree
? 5+ years of estimating, delivery or offering management experience
? 5+ years of leadership experience with more than 5 team members or direct reports
? Experience managing a virtual team over a large geography
? Proven experience for managing technical teams to achieve results
? Demonstrated ability to communicate estimating concepts and trends to internal and external customers
? Proven ability to work on multiple projects/programs/ opportunities at one time
