Role Summary/Purpose

The EHS Manager responsible for implementation and supervision of GE Oil & Gas EHS programs for China operations and Support GE O&G TMS - Asia wider operations if needed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide EHS Leadership for Oil & Gas Global Services Turbo Machinery activities in China and Support GE O&G TMS – Asia wider operations if needed
• Evaluate EHS risks and challenges for new projects and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies;
• Develop and review completed site-specific safety plans with project management and customers;
• Ensure that customer EHS requirements are detailed in our project plans so that projects meet both GE and customer expectations.
• Proactively represent the EHS function in front of customers to ensure that TMS EHS expectations are well understood and appropriate site level controls are implemented to ensure the safety of our field services team.
• Manage any EHS issues that may arise during activities at customer sites;
• Perform frequent EHS audits;
• Lead EHS programs for Oil&Gas Global Services/Turbo Machinery for China based operations;
• Develop and update EHS programs and procedures ensuring compliance with all local regulations and GE requirements;
• Coordinate and provide training for O&G employees;
• Manage environmental impacts of operations;
• Investigate safety/environmental incidents conducting root cause analysis and driving
implementation of corrective actions;
• Liaise with government agencies on EHS issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Degree in EHS, engineering or other EHS-related field;
• Professional Certification (CN safety engineer, CHMM, CIH, CSP, etc.).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills;
• 4-5+ years EHS experience including operations at customers job sites;
• Knowledge of local EHS regulations and of most widely used international standards;
• Fluent English and Chinese skills, both oral and written.
• This position may require 50% travel.
