Role Summary/Purpose

Work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, develop highly reliable BOP system, provide technical direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. This role is expected to demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, also contribute to the overall strategy development and long-term planning

Essential Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
·Demonstrate leadership and provide technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel; Manage key performance indicators of engineering quality, on-time delivery, productivity and efficiency.
·Be responsible for leading China BOP technical growth, guiding team member growth, making long term team technical develop plan.
·Communicate with global expertise, play as technical reviewer globally, make sound technical decision.
·Identify the need for new products and technology to enhance GE's position

·Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved.
·Develop conceptual design requirements for customer and undertake concept design reviews where appropriate. Participate with the customer in undertaking these reviews and gain acceptance for Design Specification.
·Develop an overall project verification plan. Where appropriate include verification requirements from third parties and the customer.
·Effectively communicate project / program status, business challenges and solutions in technical in the organization.
·Identify and ensure equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
·Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
·Build and maintain close connection and relationship with global engineering Center of Excellence at multiple sites worldwide; Drive the integration and globalization.
·Work closely with the China customers' Technical Institute.
·Drive cost-out of existing products and solutions, and support global sourcing and supply chain activities, like supplier deviation request, first piece qualification.
·Provide manufacturing support and filed support as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

•Bachelor or above, in Petroleum engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
•15+ years of engineering experience in BOP or pressure control area of Oil and Gas industry.
•Solid knowledge of mechanical system and machining method.
•Demonstrate expertise on Oil and Gas design code like API and ASME.
•Demonstrate experience of field service and trouble shooting.
•Familiarity with specification, design, test and installation of BOP systems.
•Good team player, ability to work across disciplines, organizations; Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional, cross-country environment.
•Exellent oral and written communication/presentation skills.
•Strong learning capability.
•Fluent in English.

Desired Characteristics

·Experience in the oil and gas field, knowledge of application.
·Knowledge and experience in below aspects:
API codes for BOP products
ASME
Flow Control equipment
·Ability to effectively provide direction and training to other engineers
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Capability to work in teams
·Quality program experience: Six Sigma GB/BB, or Total Quality Management.
· PC proficiency
