Essential Responsibilities

Work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, develop highly reliable control system, provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. You will be responsible for:
Lead and participant in the design and development of control system software to work with electrical & mechanical modules, and provide assistance to both internal and external customers; compiling customer requirement and design proposal are the major roles;
Do solution proposal and architecture;
Do planning, operation management of project, also set up corresponding procedures as task needs;
Do code implementation of solution architecture & frame modules, and be responsible for design documents, test procedures, installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, etc;
Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, sales and field services
Participate in team’s assignment to address specific organizational initiatives;
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures;
Adhere to Software Quality processes and procedures;
Guide junior engineers on technical development path;

Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or above in EE, Computer Science, or related ;
Experience of development on UNIX/LINUX, or similar OS platforms;
Minimum of 8-year experience in control software development, similar experience of tele-communication system-level embedded software development experience is also acceptable;
Minimum of 8-year direct experience in programming with C and C++, experience of C#, Java is a plus; expertise of common design patterns of object-oriented languages;
Familiar with common software development tools, like TFS,SVN, ClearCase, etc;
Knowledge of remote I/O protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc, as a plus;
Solid knowledge of software lifecycle, expertise of water flow and agile processes;
Demonstrated expertise of software architecture, independent capability of design proposal;
Project management skills, could lead virtual team, based on dynamic project assignment;
Good team player, ability to work across disciplines, organizations; experience with customer is a plus;
"Can do" attitude, embrace challenge with enthusiasm;
Solid oral and written communication skills, good written and oral English skills;
Quick learner, self-driven;
Could travel based on business needs, around 20% annually;

Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of Oil and Gas applications, such as drilling, subsea measurement, it’s a plus;
Knowledge of hydraulic system, PLC, it’s a plus;
Six Sigma training preferred (GE Employees Only)
