Role Summary/Purpose

GGO Sales & Project Finance supports the growth of the GE Industrial Businesses by structuring and implementing customer financing solutions primarily in the emerging markets.
The GGO SPF team leverages a broad array of funding sources including export credit agencies (“ECA”), multi-lateral agencies, international, regional and local banks and also invests GE funds in strategic transactions at either the development or construction phase.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include structuring, project development & execution support via conception, permitting & financing of both early stage & partly permitted projects. Projects developed with funding from both GE & its strategic partners, always predicated upon generating equipment and service pull-through in short & medium term.
In close co-ordination with the regional development teams and businesses:
Ensure the economic viability and bankability of the project as a whole:
a) Pre-feasibility – siting, anemometry, regulatory consents, permitting;
b) Financial modelling & economic analyses
c) Appointment and monitoring of relevant project consultants including technical, regulatory, accounting, tax, and other advisors as appropriate
d) Valuations of existing development assets for purchase/acquisition
e) Sell-down – at development completion, financial close and at COD, working closely with partners, Investment Banks, other advisors
- Interact with businesses and other GE components having a development and financing charter to work in a synchronized manner to achieve common objectives of generating equipment pull through using Development/Permanent Capital
- Partner with the S&PF team to support projects with advisory, structuring and execution capabilities for complex transactions; assist regional teams as required on arranging third party debt and/or equity products; including transactions where GE is taking direct risk
- Lead negotiation & closing processes in transactions; manage relationships & communication with customers, GE businesses and external investor base across the region
- Leverage expertise from local and international tax, accounting, legal, operations and other functional teams to optimize deal structures

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or finance
• Minimum 6 years financial services experience specifically in Project Finance, Deal Origination, Project Development and Execution or related experience

Desired Characteristics

• Masters of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred
• Strong understanding of the Energy and Infrastructure industries, related policy & regulatory issues, tariff regimes, financing and contractual tie-ups
