Position Summary: East for East (E4E) Product Export Manager
Many products have been designed, developed and manufactured in China & India in the past 10 years to serve these two huge developing markets. These East for East (E4E) products are designed with the right features at the right price for customers in the East. Today, many of these E4E products have matured and have gained many successful installations. One of the key HGR strategies is to start to roll out these E4E products to the other high growth regions in the world as there are many more developing markets with very similar requirements. E4E products largely targets at the ever growing mid market segments in high growth regions. E4E products are to complement Honeywell’s existing portfolio so that we may serve more diverse customer segments and get better penetration into more geographical locations especially in HGR countries.
The E4E Product Export Manager will lead a small team comprising members from each SBU to drive the E4E Product Export initiative described above. He/she has to be an excellent broad-based business thinker who can collaborate effectively with other functional leaders as well as senior business line leaders.
In this role the candidate will report to the Business Development Director for China Export.
The ideal candidate will be based out of China (preferably Shanghai) and comfortable with global & domestic travels approximately 50% of the time. However we do encourage suitable candidates outside of the Shanghai area to apply with the understanding that relocation will be required.
The successful candidate, with close collaboration with each SBU, will have to design, own and drive the following processes:
Review the entire E4E Product portfolio with each SBU
Opportunity/Market size
Relative position vs similar products (internal & external)
Availability of channels & resources to market
Determine product differentiation
Speed and ease of product localization
Prioritize E4E products for export
Drive Localization
Determine local certifications requirements
Identify list of improvements / modifications necessary
Identify cost & resource necessary to implement improvements / modifications
Set time lines and track progress product improvements.
Manage Product Rollout including:
Pricing & costing analysis
Work out supply chain and routing of products
Work out local product support programs
Product documentation in destination languages
Sales tool kit
Sales Training
Credit / Profit Sharing Schemes with destination countries
Track Sales Success
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in finance, technical or marketing field.
Minimum of 10 years combined business development, product development, product management, channel management experience.
Fluent in speaking and writing in Mandarin and English
Additional Qualifications:
Master’s degree in MBA or similar is a plus.
Excellent project management skills.
Proven capacity to be effective in a complex global business environment.
Ability to forge solid relationships and manage across a broad and geographically diverse business.
Able to manage in a matrix organization.
Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical, business planning and problem solving skills.
Ability to identify issues, requirements and opportunities for improvement.
Proven track record of cross SBU business development, marketing or sales role
