Key responsibilities:
1.Purpose
Maximise the commercial result of Volvo Cars' car projects. This is achieved through actively managing the market equation, promotion and commercial launch of each new/updated car in the China market. Additionally, this has to be done in a manner that secures a competitive offer that delivers volume and revenue targets.
2. Main Tasks
? Responsible for the market equation for all China related New Car projects (both local and import). In cooperation with the China product team, optimise the product offer to achieve revenue, profit & sales objectives.
o In cooperation with the China Product team, develop the China long term volume plan
o Develop and formulate price positioning and content strategies for Car Projects and input in Annual Work
o Maintain and develop the China Trim Level Strategy
? Maintain, develop, formulate and implement VCCN Pricing Strategies
o VCCN Pricing Strategies including Car Pricing Guidelines, pricing potential in future VCC portfolio in scenario planning work, identify pricing enablers and pricing of specific product offers such as Hybrids and Environment
? Manage the launch of one or more car lines in coordination with the "phase out" of the replaced model and other new cars to be launched in the same period.
? Prepare and manage Commercial Milestones.
? Create and manage the Blue Book for all China related New Car projects
? Identify market need and define business cases for the Cycle Plan process.
? Monitor the sales performance/brand performance and request product, price and/or communication activities to be implemented in the next generation vehicle.
? Support the Product Dept. in specific product related customer requirements e.g. tax, emissions.
3. Deliverables/Responsibility
o China long term volume plan (in cooperation with product dept.)
o China Price Strategy
o Market equation for managed project (s) (price and volume)
o Blue book deliveries responsibility from the Annual / phase to .
o Business cases for managed project(s)
o Define, co-ordinate & follow-up the commercial criteria for managed project(s).
o Timely plan and manage commercial gates.
o Enthusiastic ambassador/presenter of the car project(s) at market, dealer and press events.
o Main project representative at Launch Board Review and Launch and Communication Board.
o A clear and customer focused Marketing Brief that serves as the foundation of the project's communication development.
o Identify & drive non-existent product opportunities that generate volume, revenue and brand appeal. Liaise with key organisations to ensure these opportunities are realized.
Competence Requirements:
o Product & Market experience (+5 years) with a very good knowledge of the commercial system and the working processes adopted between VCC and Markets.
o International mindset. Candidate should have a market experience gained through first hand experience from working in a market or solid experience from working with markets from HQ.
o Ability to shift between short-term, mid-term and strategic issues
o Drives for results.
o High level of energy and passion.
o Ability to assume responsibility & take action.
o Strong verbal, writing and presentation communication skills.
o Leadership skills to lead and influence through others.
o Analytical, financial and business acumen.
o Good PowerPoint & Excel skills.
o Academic degree within relevant area or equivalent education.
o Very strong multitasking skills.
o Ability to prioritise and delegate tasks.
o Significant earlier experience from Commercial Project Management.
o Innovative and willing to try new ways of working.
