Purpose of your role
Key advisor on project risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects. Advises on development methods and tools, conducts studies of alternatives, analyzes and recommends changes in project development, policies, procedures, standards and strategies to architects and management. Familiar with Agile methodology and potentially plays Agile coach role across GDC delivery organizations.
Expert of system knowledge in multiple technologies. In-depth knowledge of business application requirements with working knowledge of business strategy. Able to develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
Responsible for the delivery of Dalian based Software Development projects for FMR. Takes ownership of assigned projects and lead the teams throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally manage prioritization and high-level resource assignment between teams; Analyze and present on both current activities and future direction; be actively involved in the hiring of key roles and be expected to coach and mentor various team members on management, leadership and technical aspects of project delivery.
Your Responsibilities
Architecture: Defines and implements application level architecture, participates in architecture
design teams, develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Design: Identifies and consults with internal technical resources to produce strategic designs, designs applications on complex major projects and subsystems, reviews and advises on technical designs, performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Development: Develops applications on complex major projects, components and subsystems for the division.
Testing: Recommends development testing tools and methodology and reviews and validates test plans, assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing, responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables, plans and conducts system testing.
Deployment: Consults on development and delivery of a major component or entire project deliverable, responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Documentation: Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Maintenance and Support: Provides application support for own or key applications, may serve as on-call resource to support the organization's service and escalation model.
Autonomy: May work without supervision, determines and develops approaches to solutions.
Job Family Specific Knowledge: Advanced business knowledge, Specific business background through training and application experience, expert understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning, full project life cycle experience. Extensive application/technology knowledge and recognized expertise in several areas, demonstrated expertise in all technologies relevant to responsibilities, including communications, languages, environments, operating systems and databases.
Accountability/Impact: Directs most complex and creative cross-functional assignments and multiple phases of a project, sound judgments and recommendations would normally prevent the inability to reach crucial organizational objectives, possible prolonged negative effects and the expenditure of substantial unplanned resources, develops departmental technical policies and procedures, manages and may initiate vendor relationships.
People Leadership: May be responsible for managing a small team of individual contributors; may have input to or be responsible for performance management activities, regularly provides guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations, may have input into hiring decisions, mentors other team members.
Project Leadership: Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects; may have multiple platforms, responsible for technical implementation of architectural components, has tactical responsibility for completion and implementation of multiple major initiatives, responsible for meeting on-time and on-budget project goals, advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects, plans and coordinates project schedules and makes assignments for multiple projects. Participates in the identification of and planning for future resource needs, acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues, provides technology solutions to daily issues and manages relationships to provide ongoing customer service, provides technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Technical Leadership: Provides technical direction, executes vision, goals and direction of team/organization, provides leadership to teams in broad technical areas and on large, complex projects, advises senior management on technical strategy, plans and manages organization-wide initiatives, exerts department-wide influence. Fosters innovation, researches and recommends new technologies, evaluates innovative alternatives and re-use opportunities. Promotes collaboration, works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives. Participates in internal and external groups, on occasion, addresses small groups on technical subjects or demonstrates systems, leads informational discussions with internal and external groups
