Department Overview:
The Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK.

About the team:
GATD provides services on a comprehensive advertising platform, and its customers include Rakuten Ichiba stores, major companies operating in Japan and overseas, and foreign-affiliated companies.
Our team, which develops and operates advertising sales support and sales management systems used by in-house sales, supports the sales promotion activities and advertising campaigns of these customers from the IT technical side.
In this team, you can learn a wide range of services and data deployed throughout the Rakuten Group, as well as internal business system development that supports the corporate advertising business.

We are looking for an application engineer to develop and operate sales support and sales management systems for internal users that will accelerate the growth and productivity of GATD. Our advertising business has a wide range of business systems, including sales force automation system, sales management systems. We are sure to be able to provide systems and projects that will suit your career orientation, skills, and experience.
Position Details:
To understand business requirements with product manager and come out high level arch design as proposal.
To execute and promote system design, development, test and release of systems.
To maintain and operate existing systems.
Examples of services, middleware, and programming languages.
Salesforce (APEX, LWC）/Java/Python/MySQL/ASTERIA Warp
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience on Java
- 6+ years of professional experience on web application and web service development
- Database design or data migration experience
- Experience on Cloud system
- 2+ years of service operation/maintenance experience
- Experience of CICD pipeline and related tools (Git, Jenkins etc.)
- Experience of system development team leader (3-10 people)
- Fluent English speaking
- Conversational level Japanese
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of CRM (Salesforce, etc.) or sales management system development and design experience(both standard and customization)
- Experience of system development with ASTERIA Warp
- System development or business knowledge related to online advertising industry
Languages:
Japanese (Overall - 2 - Intermediate), English (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
