Objective of job role
- Responsible for managing the risk of the Building Efficiency customer portfolio, including executing lien and bond requirements in a timely and professional manner within organizational guidelines.
- Responsible for supporting internal and external customers in the timely risk management review of the Building Efficiency Customer Portfolio.

Main tasks/important responsibilities
Accounting and Finance Activities
- Follows credit guidelines to assign and manage risk classes and customer limits
- Appraises credit on all domestic and international Equipment customers by utilizing information from internal scorecards and external sources such as Dun & Bradstreet to evaluate customer risk
- Review and maintain watch list of highest risk customers
- Perform credit checks for new customers
- Make credit recommendations based on set parameters
- Monitor existing customer credit as directed
- Respond to credit inquiries from the business
- Recommends bad debt reserves for specific accounts in legal action
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with subordinates, peers, and management
- Prepare data and reports for function management to review
- Follow procedures to improve efficiencies, cost reduction initiatives, and accomplish internal policies
- Monitor the credit function, identifying, resolving, or escalating issues
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the credit function, ensuring that improvements are incorporated in the work routine
- Ensure compliance with JCI credit policies, procedures and processes
- Support the timely reporting of key financial information, monitor the performance and quality of the activities performed based on agreed Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs") and Service Level Agreements ("SLAs")
- Ensure that process change directives and other changes initiated by global are implemented regionally
- Follows best practices while working with internal and external customers to exceed customer satisfaction and shares best practices with internal teams to improve quality and efficiency of service
- Proactively monitor and operate a robust SOX and internal control environment
- Prompt response to all information requests
People & HR Activities
- Excellent knowledge about accounting policies and processes, specifically credit processes
- Ability to work independently, a self-starter, proactive in taking initiative for improvements
- Affinity with accounting and financial administrative processes and computer systems
- Demonstrated analytical skills, specifically accounting analytics
- Able to handle deadlines and maintain accuracy of reporting activities
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the team by providing support to team members and leadership
- Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Dedicated and flexible mindset, with a problem-solving focus
- Support a climate of cooperation, energy, and accountability
North America Specific Responsbilities:
- Excellent knowledge about accounting policies and processes, specifically credit processes
Requirements
Education (technical and/or commercial)
- Professional accountancy Qualification such as, CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA recommended
- A two or four-year degree in finance or accounting required
Job experience
- 0 - 3 years experience working in accounting
- Knowledge, insight, and experience in financial administrative accounting processes
- Proven ability to work independently with good analytical and problem solving skills around accounting analytics and processes
- Ability to handle high volume account portfolio in an organized manner while staying focused on priorities and remaining professional
- Demonstrated organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, analytical, change management and communication skills
Professional knowledge: in detail when specialist function
- MSOffice, Oracle, Collection Tool (Oracle Advance Collection preferred), & Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) experience
- Fluent in English
