The Manufacturing Supervisor has responsibility for developing and implementing activities in all manufacturing areas to meet safety, quality, budget, and delivery goals based on Factory Manager’s Advising.  This position establishes, reviews, and prioritizes manufacturing schedules based on customer requirements and fully support to setup factory management system (ISO9001), efficiency, materials supply, and labor resources.  The incumbent hires, trains, and develops the manufacturing staff and manages manufacturing activities through managing manufacturing staff, includes material/warehouse, mechanical, programmer, and controller assembly.  The position implements departmental standards and practices; plans and administers budgets; provides leadership, direction, and counseling to direct report manufacturing staff.  Interfaces and cooperates with Sales, Engineering, Materials Management, Facility Management, Quality departments and VMHYT manufacturing processes to jointly achieve business goals of DS&S Great China and SEA.

Purpose

DS&S is expanding equipment manufacturing facility in WGQ Shanghai. The Manufacturing Supervisor will manage this facility and smooth produce localized products as well as DS&S standard products. This facility will also support local repair and re-modification on gas equipment as demand using the clean room and facility equipment.

Nature and Scope


The Manufacturing Supervisor reports directly to the Factory Manager.  This position executes activities in the manufacturing, repair, and rehab of DS&S equipment.  The incumbent has leadership responsibility and accountability for all gas delivery equipment manufacturing and repair facilities in China.  The Manufacturing Supervisor is accountable for operating in compliance with the environmental, health, and safety regulations required by local and national agencies governing the respective facility and with Versum Materials standards and policies. This position requires understanding of ISO9001 system and provide support to the ISO system setup and maintaining compliance, including audit activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

This position is accountable for the following end results:
1. Achieve safety, health, and environmental targets (ex: Recordable Injury Rate) through the deployment of an effective Basic Safety Process (BSP) based on Factory Manager’s management.
2. Meet customer ship dates for all new equipment, providing input to Factory Manager for the Master Manufacturing Schedule, and through effective interface with other departments
3. Manage operating expenses at facility within the Operating Plan budget
4. Achieve DS&S manufacturing schedule in facility by training, developing, and coaching the manufacturing staff and effectively balancing sub-contracted work with in-house manufacturing
5. Deliver defect-free products by leading continuous improvement and root cause analysis efforts
6. Maintain continuity in operations and maximize productivity of the manufacturing staff by administrating and interpreting the Labor Agreement
7. Generate sustainable improvements in manufacturing performance by developing and implementing processes, standards and policies throughout the operation
8. Maintain compliance of manufacturing operation to ISO9001 standards, review specifications and standards in time, support factory audits and reporting in time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS


1) Work experience: 3+ years on factory operation, quality system management.
2) Knowledge on ISO9001 is a plus.
3) Education: Bachelor’s degree on mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or chemical engineer or business administration
4) Language: Chinese, English, and Korean is preferred
