JOB DESCRIPTION

Oversees a single function of the financial shared services organization within a business center. Plans and manages daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities. Establishes accounting systems to ensure the accuracy of financial information. Manages a team related to the specific financial function.  Acts as a technical resource and leader to the accounting team which includes providing guidance and direction with day to day activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

RTR:

Achieve FY Profit Plan financial targets

Guarantee compliance with audit procedures for all Team / Group Members

Set-up of effective and efficient team structure to support above

Manage, motivate and develop team members

Human resource management, actively manage HR pipeline

Ensure the timely reporting of key financial information; monitor the performance and quality of the activities performed based on agreed Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”)

Ensure ethical and accounting principle compliance

Ensure that external partners (e.g. auditors) and regional partners receive accurate and on-time information

Actively manage the efficiency of the organization and change management

Liaise across the organization / other functions to set up BBC culture

Coordinate the finance processes and ensure the alignment with the business

Lead special projects on various topics as needed, lead identifying and implementing process improvements, proactive application of CI culture, and support less experience employees in CI

Support the risk assessment of the department and drive the mitigation of the risk. Support MRL Reporting

Ensure internal processes are in compliance with corporate policies, procedures and SOX requirements, lead policy and procedures updates as necessary, and liaise with corporate accounting. Ensure all legislative requirements are completed on time

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION (SCHOOL/SPECIALIZATION):

Bachelors (or local equivalent) Degree required. Accounting and / or finance / mathematics recommended

LANGUAGES:

Fluent in Japanese; bi-lingual capabilities preferred

EXPERIENCES:

10 years+ of progressively more responsible assignments. Preferably 8+ years in a shared service environment for a large multi-national organization

OTHERS:

Professional accountancy Qualification such as, CPA, CIMA, ACCA, and ACA –OR– MBA recommended

MS-Office, SAP, Oracle & Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) experience, BPO/SSC relevant industry experience is a must

Strong experience with global operations, including acquisitions, joint ventures, financial planning, contracts, etc.
