Overview:

The ideal candidate will provide technical support and guidance to customers to ensure that the correct product is chosen for their applications. The ability to run tests in our own lab and at the customer site, collect and analyze data, and present results that justify the purchase of an instrument is critical. This position will work closely with our sales team, field service engineers and design engineers to add value for the customer and increase revenue. Our company depends on team efforts to accomplish our goals, thus the ability to travel and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers is paramount. Information collected from customer visits regarding new product features, performance, applications and competitors will be documented and distributed to management.

This candidate will be located in Shanghai, China.
Responsibilities:

Utilize broad, in-depth knowledge and understanding of product lines to translate product, customer and application knowledge into product selection and/or use recommendations that improve product performance and provide increased value to the customer
Create product application presentations, white papers, and documentation
Identify and suggest products specific to customer needs
Assist Engineering in the analysis of product failures, the generation of the related failure reports and communication of failure analysis and recommendations to the customer
Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze operational and technical information for the product line
Provide technical expertise and product applications training to the customer and internal departments
Lead customer projects
Lead basic and advanced rheology training programs
 
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field required; Master's degree or PhD preferred
Minimum 3 years Field Applications and/or Technical Sales experience required
Working knowledge and experience in rheology required
Must be fluent in both English and Chinese
Strong analytical and technical skills required
Strong communication skills required - must be able to communicate effectively with customers
