Supply Quality Manager
Summary:
Supplier Quality Manager strives to be the leader in supplier quality management and ability to scale to support manage the business relations with all tiers of suppliers. Key responsibilities include developing approved Suppliers for Mass Production of high quality parts. Manage suppliers in Mass Production to continuously produce high quality parts consistently, with improvement in yield quarter to quarter. Qualify and bring-up of new suppliers to support increased capacity and/or new programs (addressing all aspects of supplier process readiness).
Responsibilities:
· Anticipates potential problems, identifies and resolves performance issues and problems that affect the reliability, manufacturability, or availability of components.
· Partner with Global Commodity Managers in reducing cost of materials and components while maintaining a high sensitivity to quality.
· Work with Product Engineering on pre-purchase testing, provide on-site technical guidance to suppliers and monitor them toward assuring product / process compliance with engineering requirements.
· Lead the development of new suppliers or existing suppliers of new components to improve reliability and quality.
· Lead supplier qualification audits.
· Lead communication with suppliers, Global Commodity Managers, and other internal teams on appropriate issues and improvements.
· Develop process to identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, components, and materials.
· Develop process to enhance the recording of supplier quality data, audits, and corrective actions.
· Develop and lead PPAP process for supplier ramp up.
· Establish process or mechanism in driving supplier improvements.
· Establish and implement processes for ensuring that all components sourced in Asia meet acceptable and recognized industry standards in terms of test, sampling, and materials.
· Tracking, management and reporting for the assigned quality initiative programs.
· Passion for excellence with high integrity, commitment to quality, fluent in oral and written in English and Mandarin, willing to take frequent travel and work with suppliers.
Qualification
· Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
· Experienced in reading and interpreting engineering documents.
· Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
· Experienced with relevant commodity manufacturers on Quality and Process improvement projects, mainly plastic commodity.
· Experienced in relevant commodity key technologies, plastic commodity or metal commodity.
· Passionate about learning new technologies.
· Experienced in statistical tools using Minitab for cause analysis and statistical decision making. Have knowledge and experience of process improvement methodologies such as lean and six sigma, APQP etc.
· Work hours may vary in length and schedule. Work hours may include a non-standard work week.
· Minimum 10 years’ experience with 5 years in a manufacturing and quality environment.
Advanced qualification
· Strong experience in related commodity's process quality improvement and product qualification background preferred
· The ideal candidate will have experience in leading the implementation of process control of supplier from qualification stage through to mass production. Particular focus will be required on establishing both FAI capability and process in China, and the capability to define and revise specifications
· Solid experience on quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, Lean, process improvements, yield improvements, cycle time reductions, Pareto charts, root cause analysis, failure modes, test procedures, gauge reliability and repeatability, FAI (first article inspection), Cpk (statistical process capability), etc.
· Lead Auditor certification by third party
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1) ISO9001 auditor certified or trained is preferred.
2) GB or BB certified is preferred.
3) Self-discipline, self-starter, ability to work in cross-functional & global team environment.
