1. Job Description:
Employees in this role focus on growing total software revenue within their account territory, increases IBM software market share through competitive win backs, and increases customer satisfaction with IBM's software solutions. This role has primary ownership of Opportunity Identification (OI). Employees in this role lead the development of opportunities and are often Opportunity Owner (OO) but this may vary by situation. They establish tight linkages with solution providers (partners, system integrators, ISVs) who utilize IBM middleware solutions to have multiple people selling with/for IBM. They provide thought leadership for IBM's software business for client teams and customers. Employees in this role serve as a consultant or trusted business advisor for customers by offering them business acumen and understanding of how IBM software technology can solve their business problems. Key elements of the role are outlined below.
- Quota carrying field rep that is territory based.
- Pursues Prospects with annual revenues greater than $20M.
- 90% of effort and time should be spent of acquiring new customers.
- Holds accounts for 12 months from effective date of initial contract and can up-sell into those accounts.
- This new business sales position is responsible for selling the complete portfolio of EMM products and services.
2. Experience Required
- 5-10 years as a quota carrying rep with a proven record of quota attainment.
- Ideally has 5 years experience selling both Enterprise Software License as well as SaaS offerings to large, complex or tactically important accounts.
- B.A. or B.S. required.
3. Skills Required
- Ecommerce, Database, CRM Enterprise Software and/or Direct Marketing solution selling.
- Ability to penetrate new markets and close new business in Retail, Financial Services, Content, Content/Commerce and/or Travel verticals.
- Knowledge of enterprise sales process and customer buying behavior for software and services.
- Self motivated and driven by results.
4. Depth of Product Knowledge Required
- Needs to understand and be able to articulate the business value that each application drives.
- Needs to balance the items that drive a lot of value with the items that are "sexy" and interesting to prospects that are not as familiar with digital marketing optimization.
- Needs to be able to determine and articulate the results that our product/solution will bring to solving the customers business need.
- Must be familiar with the competitive environment
