POSITION: Business Development Manager, Electronics, Performance Tapes
LOCATION: Dongguan

ABOUT YOUR ROLE
Avery Dennison is seeking a key Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) Business Development Manager representing the consumer electronics industry to join the Performance Tapes organization. This role will be accountable for growth and profitability of the consumer electronics segment. This individual will work collaboratively across China with product management, R&D, and global sales & marketing leaders to efficiently identify and align product capabilities to maximize profitable growth. This position reports to the Business Development Leader Electronics of Performance Tapes.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Focus on business development activities to drive profitable growth throughout the consumer electronics market
- Located in Dongguan with ability to cover and travel to customers within the region
- High level of collaboration and transparency with colleagues within Greater China and Global project teams is required
- Demonstrated technical aptitude/experience to develop personal relationships with highly technical customers
- Identify key Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) decision makers in the supply chain. Team with key Electronics ODM/OEMs to design solutions. Work independently to execute sales plan
- Understand key ODM’s product trends and requirements for materials and PSA’s
- Relay those requirements to work collaboratively with our Product Development teams - bringing new product applications, ideas, and potential solutions to Global Electronics team.
- The role will require significant customer travel averaging up to 50%.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
- Knowledge of material/adhesive/PSA performance specifications and test methods in EMS/FATP (adhesion strength, electrical abilities, thermal cycle, impact-resistance)
- Knowledge of consumer electronics PSA applications (ex: lens bonding, FPC attachment, etc)
- Experience working with Electronic device structure design, module or component structure design, and assembly process engineering teams from ODM’s
- Experience in creating and executing high impact customer/product presentations
- Ability to effectively determine unmet customer needs through questions, interviews, and active listening
- Demonstrated successful experience in a sales position that involved negotiating complex transactions with upper-level management positions or similar experience
- Excellent project management skills, to lead and influence people across all functions and all levels in a global matrix organization to champion new business ventures
- Hands on process, operations assembly, trouble-shooting experience preferred
- Experienced user of CRM systems, for example salesforce.com
- Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred
- MBA or advanced technical degree a plus
- At least 3-5 years of Electronic industries experience, preferably with experience in PSA application
- Established track record for setting & achieving challenging goals
