Job description
The GCG STG Labs Cross Platform Software organization is an integral part of the world-wide IBM System x and PureFlex Software organizations, responsible for the development of various products and solutions such as System x Firmware, Systems Management Software and Cloud Software.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for Development Architect of IBM Smart Cloud software, responsible for:
- Software architecture design, use case analysis, technical implementation, and critical technical problem solving.
- Define the development plan and lead the development team to deliver high quality code on schedule; also improve the development efficiency through Agile development practices.
- Work with global technical leaders to analyze customer requirements (in particular growth markets), make clear the architecture design and development approaches, prioritize the development work items, and drive the development in an effective and efficient way by working with project team and development managers.
- Team with cross IBM development & research organizations to synergize the development efforts across Cloud software offerings, and collaborate with field teams and clients to drive the new technologies adoption in the market and product innovation and quality improvements.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences)
- Proven system architecture and design experiences.
- Experience in design and implementation of new technologies/products.
- Solid understanding of enterprise systems architecture
- Experience in Virtualization technologies and Cloud Computing.
- Advanced understanding and hands-on programming experience in Systems Management
- Strong programming skills on C/C++, Java, scripting languages such as JavaScript/Dojo, Python, etc.
- Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Good exposure to Agile software development and advanced problem solving skills.
- Fluent in the English language (both written and spoken).
- Demonstrated ability in producing written technical documentation such as design documents, whitepapers, or blogs/articles.
- Customer engagement experience is also required working with C level executives.
- Excellent leadership and pro-active, self-motivated team player with great communication, ownership and teamwork spirit.

Bachelor, Master or Ph.D degree major in Computer Science or related.
