DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


¨ Work closely with sourcing team in North America and Asia, to find new vendors & conclude sourcing on new products.

¨ Research and reporting on key vendors in the toy industry in China, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, India and other regional countries.

¨ Site visits and vendor evaluation based on corporate standard operation procedures (SOP).

¨ Initiate vendor inquiry and lead cross-functional team from Hong Kong and Los Angeles for supplier visits.

¨ Report on technical capabilities, equipment, automation and continuous improvement in the vendor supply chain including sub-contractors.

¨ Identify key strengths and core business including OEM/ODM products that may be considered in our portfolio.

¨ Review contract terms, work with the legal department to implement the legal updates with vendor.

¨ Work with manufacturing department value, add value engineer projects & purchase parts variance goals.

¨ Collaborate with supply chain team to negotiate better terms & cost reduction with supplier.

¨ Extensive travel to suppliers in Asia (mainly mainland China) required.



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED


¨ Bachelors Degree or higher in Plastics, Mold making and mechanical engineering or equivalent in related work experience

¨ 5-8 years of experience in toy manufacturing or closely related field.

¨ Experience in; electronics, toys, medical device and sporting goods.

¨ Internet savvy and ability to conduct on-line research into industry and companies.

¨ Excel and access database experience.

¨ Strong network of professionals in industry to leverage sourcing skills.

¨ Strong knowledge of commodity, labor currency, fluctuation in the global market.

¨ Global experience in negotiation, sourcing, contracts.

¨ Able to execute strategic procurement directions for MGA.

¨ Strong negotiation with proven results.

¨ Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

¨ Knowledge in global supply chain.
