Position Summary
Working with our US and China design teams from an early stage, ensure we have a smooth transition into mass production for all new product development projects.
After production commences primary responsibilities will be:
Product quality improvements
Manufacturability improvements
Cost reduction
Manage and develop a team of engineers focusing on:
Process definition and development
Personal and professional development

Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Provide 'Back-End' input to 'Front-End' of all new product development projects to ensure sufficient attention is given to factors affecting product quality manufacturability and cost
Assume full project responsibility from tooling release stage through engineering and pilot builds and into production.
Have full responsibility for model and market variation projects.
Communicate accurately with all members of the project and management teams at an appropriate level of detail.
Contribute to and, at appropriate stages or projects, lead the DFMEA, VSR and EB reviews.
Collaborate opening with US and China marketing, quality and merchandising teams to ensure we consistently achieve or exceed product KPIs.
Lead continuous improvement exercises particularly regarding engineering processes.
Work effectively across different time zones.
Work with quality on a process-driven approach to reducing customer returns.
Ensure consistent on-time delivery to cost and specification.
Construct/Develop/Improve performance and capabilities of team-our objective is to be truly world-class.

Education and Experience
Degree in engineering required, master's degree strongly preferred
Likely to have 15+ years experience
Consumer appliance experience required
Experience with China manufacturing
Fluent spoken/written English and Chinese mandarin necessary.
