Key Responsibilities:
Lead and secure
- the product development projects from a technical perspective, with competence in construction, material, production, quality and customer expectations
- the design and construction meets the product functional requirements for long time use
- The process of product development at the vendor from a technical point of view and production readiness.
- The product documentation is created and ensure it will meet the products requirements and customer expectations for the new products as well as existing products with any improvement as needed.
- Product Risk Analysis / DFMEA is performed to identify Critical to Safety and Quality parameters during product development and act upon to eliminate or mitigate such risks.
- Clear communication to production engineers or Quality Assurance and vendors to secure the preconditions needed to start up the productions and assign the necessary approvals.
- Communicate with US team directly for technical discussion.
- Make sure the specification deliver to vendor is producible, the final Product Data Sheet and approved sample handover to QA is correct and clear.
- Review and approve Assembly Instruction.
Implement & Follow up
- The key processes and requirements according to WSI requirements
- Ensure the production engineers and quality assurance department is communicated with updated requirements and implemented.
Desirable Qualifications and Competencies:
Core Competences:
- Very good knowledge in upholstery home furnishing product category on constructions, materials, product and quality levels.
- Very good knowledge in leather and/or fabric characteristic and quality acceptance level.
- Be able to approve leather swatch, final sample.
- Familiar with Leather tanneries processes/ production.
- Good understanding about the manufacturing processes and technologies
- Very good in creating drawings and in creating product documentations
- Very good knowledge of the product requirements, regulatory standards and test requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ hands on experience in product development of home furnishing merchandise.
- Understanding of product and materials value chain and cost aspects.
General Competence:
- Process oriented with good analytical and structured approach
- Capability to build trust and relationships through effective communication
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems with a holistic view in product development; Design, Material, construction and requirements
- Capability to lead projects and secure implementation
- Curiosity to learn about customer needs and requirements and continuously learn.
