职位描述：
1.GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This position are integral members of the Owners Construction Team, will be deployed into the Engineering, QA/QC and Construction teams, will be members of the teams contributing in all technical facets of the construction program from design review (safety and constructability), the complete QA/QC program (manufacture and erection), both on and offshore, ultimately being involved in the construction program on site and culminating in the commissioning of the plant. They also seeking from clear and concise translational (verbal and written) services for all technical, schedule and quality related matters, The Owners Engineer and any other party on the Owners side. This includes translation to the EPC Contractor and their Sub-Contractors to ensure their compliance to the technical requirements of the EPC Contract. Proficiency in written and spoken languages of English and Mandarin is a pre-requisite. The position requires attention to detail and nuance, so that the intent and tone of the original meaning is preserved. This position may further require short / long term assignments working at Head Office, the Project Site as well as visiting manufacturing facilities abroad in China.

2.RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Translation
Actively leads and delivers a language consulting service to the project, coordinate communication and flow of information with EPC Contractor.
Provides translational expertise to the Construction, Engineering and Quality Control teams.
Translates during meetings with EPC Contractor and other Chinese Sub-Contractors.
When required, provide inputs and advice on Chinese cultural customs, etiquette and localization issues.
Reviews submitted documents that were translated from Chinese to English (and vice versa) for correctness.
Reviews daily communication sent via e-mail and contractual communication, translating and localizing relevant content.
Develop, and maintain a translation memory and terminology tool infrastructure.
Proofs and assesses the quality of translation work providing feedback as necessary to maintain established translation standards.

Construction:
On-site in field supervisory assistance during construction planning, construction activities and appropriate inspections.
Participates in Owner/EPC reviews to resolve potential issues including all safety and construction related activities.
Involvement with monitoring of delivery of materials to site and compliance to delivery note and and ensuring quality compliance signoff for construction purposes.
Effectively communicates with Owner/EPC team & stakeholders to define, agree & implement project construction management and supervision strategies.
Involvement in commissioning, testing and acceptance of supercritical power generation plant.

Engineering
Involvement in feasibility studies, concept design and/or detailed design of power generation technology necessitating detailed engineering experience in coal fired power station development.
Liaise with the Chinese Design Institute and Chinese OEM.
Involvement in contributing to technical specifications for EPC contracts for the build of coal fired power projects utilising strong knowledge of power station concepts, layout and ancillary systems.
Assist with evaluation of technical deviations, request for information and technical queries.
Assist in formulation and presentation of design changes.

QC/QA
Work with quality standards such as ISO 9001 in order to assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
Prepares and reviews quality procedures following established quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASME, AISC etc.
Assist with compilation and execution of Quality Control Plans as well as Inspection and Test plans.
Prepares quality specifications and inspection instructions as directed for boiler and turbine (and other related plant areas) manufacturing and erection processes.
Reviews supplier documentation to ensure full compliance with applicable codes, standards and customer specifications.
Manufacturing facility based Quality Coordinator will work with the Employer’s Welding Engineer to assist with daily inspection and management of inspections and verification activities as well as Data Book development and sign-off.
Site based Quality Coordinator will work with the Employers Quality Control Engineers and Inspectors to assist with coordinating material receipt and erection of the complete Works. The Quality Coordinator will also assist with material scheduling, availability, release at site and storage/preservation.

3.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Administratively reports to the Project Discipline Managers (Construction, Engineering, QA/QC).
Interfaces with the Construction Management team, EPC Contractor and Sub-Contractors, Contractor's Design Institute, Owner's Engineer, Lender's Independent Engineer, Third Party Consultants and etc., as necessary.

4.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 10 years experience in large scale Power Plant construction programs, at supervisory level, with Chinese Contractors. Ideally the majority should be on supercritical plant. An advantage would be to have worked in a Power Plant O&M environment for some years. Skill sets for engineering, quality control and construction in the fields of civil, mechanical, C&I, electrical and commissioning are key.
Minimum of 10 years experience in technical translation and technical writing, in the Power Plant construction industry.
Fluent in English (read/write) and Chinese/Mandarin (read/write) languages, the structure and content of both languages including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
Bachelor's degree required, degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the reader/audience.
Ability to pass background check upon offer including: criminal history, driving record, and employment/education verification.
