Summary:

Supports the Materials Sourcing team and helps to identify, develop and execute category, program and item strategies according to departmental and brand needs. Works within categories defined by the Sourcing Manager, collaborating closely with Product Teams, Suppliers and China team. Supports the continuous streamlining of the Materials Sourcing Department with a variety of initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactively partner with Sourcing/Development/Brands/Suppliers & China Team to support program objectives within the material commercialization process framework. Follow up on testing reports/ results as needed. Work with Senior Materials Manager to review lab results or specs and to correctly identify material-supplier status.

Data entry and management of information:
Inputs to the PLM system updating relevant data attributes on new requests and carry over materials as it shifts from season to season.
Maintain vendor database in PLM.

Consolidate library information, streamlining the library so it is indeed a work friendly space, updating catalogues, swatch books and production standards from season to season.
Assist in the creation of a “standards” library where CONFIRMATION samples are kept for reference.

Coordinate samples and materials that are constantly being requested. Follow-up and ensure timely delivery of samples. Assist in tracking of “at risk” samples.
Support regular updating of timeline tools and project tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in Buying, Product Development or Sourcing
? Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications, inclusive of Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
? Moderate to intermediate working knowledge of web-based product life cycle management tools, inclusive of work flow, task management, supplier/service provider collaboration and, management reporting.
? Effective communication skills necessary
? Strong analytics, problem-solving, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
? Ability to interact effectively and build relationships with all levels
