Job Title:Production Quality Assurance Technician - Hunter
Job Location: Beijing, Suzhou

Reporting to:Technical Quality Manager / Pentland / Hunter

Job Purpose:
Responsible for all aspects of Production Quality Assurance within the designated footwear manufacturing site.

Duties / Responsibilities:
· Work effectively with the factory Production / QA team on developing SOPs, maintenance and implementation of quality control processes and documentation for the manufacturing production / finishing line. Internal processes such as "VQS" Visual Quality Standards, Visual Quality Boards and production process flow charts.
· Oversee and support the factory "lab testing" function on the completion of seasonal product development & all bulk production testing requirements - materials and finished product.
· Review monthly Customer Faulty Returns reports communicated from "Hunter", manage and complete follow up actions needed to resolve high percentage style fault trends.
· Oversee the actions required from the factory B grade / C Grade reports. Document meeting detail on any key actions needed for daily Production improvements.
· Collaborate with Development / Commercialisation teams (both Pentland and Factory) on boot materials assessment, bonding assessment, bonding flow charts, and establishes production manufacturing flow charts to enable a smooth quality focused transition of product development to 1st production.
· Collaborate with the Factory QA, QC Factory team and QC teams (both Pentland and Factory) in providing the factory production line / quality team management with day to day technical support to resolve identified quality problems on time.
· Identify "critical operations" in the production line and conduct daily production round checking with focus in these areas to help resolve/prevent quality issues.
· Support the implementation of the customer quality improvement actions "QMAP" Quality Management Action Plan & Internal Quality Audits
· Attend quality meetings of Pentland QC inspectors, Factory QC & Production team to provide technical support for action and resolve.
· Assist the manufacturing site with the control of the production line staff Health & Safety requirements
· Spot checks / identifies quality issues in the production line and troubleshoots effectively.
· Support and assist QC team inspectors to complete 100% inspections where necessary
· Carry out any other relevant Quality Assurance tasks as required by the Line Manager
· Regularly review the day to day production / finishing line operation - to ensure product is produced to the Hunter "GSS" Gold seal sample standard and VQS standards; identifying quality problems and complete a "continuous improvement cycle" with the factory production line management and quality control inspectors.
· Provide support to the onsite Pentland Product Developer and Factory Product Developer teams on the seasonal product commercialization process to enable a smooth quality focused transition of product development to 1st production.

· Premium Branded Footwear Manufacturing / production line and shoemaking experience - essential
· Be a team player and lead by example - essential
· Effective communication and have good interpersonal skills, written and verbal - essential
· Experience of basic production line quality management systems - essential but additional onsite training will be provided.
· AQL Inspection completion experience in the footwear industry - essential
· Basic knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in a footwear manufacturing environment - essential
· Experience in Vulcanized Rubber footwear manufacturing - preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
· Commercial decision making, and have an eye for attention to detail - essential
· Computer / PC Literate - essential
· Basic knowledge of Footwear Testing standards & testing method - essential with extended training available.
Qualifications:
· Footwear Manufacturing & Shoemaking - essential
Rubber Process / Technology and Chemical background - essential but additional onsite training will be provided
