This position consists of working with site engineering to manage process improvement activities and the launch of new technology development efforts initiated by global customers and associated lean engineering efforts.

The near-term focus for this position is work on Medical Device Assembly

General responsibilities include:

? Technical support for a Global Business Unit to help ensure timely execution and financial improvements.
? Technical liaison and consultant between Asian site operations and the USA customer sites.
? Value proposals to the site engineering and business team to reduce cost by improving processes, yields, cycle time, scrap, rework, training etc.
? Technical and financial justification for the associated process improvements.
? Developing robust plans and evaluations.
? Technical consultant for Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering staff
? Support for failure analysis / root cause analysis to ensure robust conclusions.
? DFM / DFA support for new designs.


Minimum Requirements

? Bachelors degree from four-year college or university in the field of Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or the equivalent in education and experience.
? Ten years experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Project Management or Leadership role in New Product Introduction (NPI)
? Thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment, materials and processes (both development and sustaining)
? Design and implementation of experiments/tests
? Technical problem solving and familiarity with failure analysis tool sets.
? Ability to create technical reports, white papers, and presentations
? Experience in developing and supporting manufacturing test plans and test procedures.
? Ability to interface effectively with other Nypro groups, external customers, vendors and technology peer groups in the industry.
? Experience across Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFT)
? Experience in prioritizing tasks and defining key deliverables with consideration of resources, skillsets, timelines, budgets and return on investment
? In depth knowledge and experience with PFMEA and DFMEA documents

? Medical Device manufacturing and GMP
? Selection of equipment and development of new processes
? Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing knowledge
? PCB Assembly technologies
? Joining technologies
? Plastics Molding, tubing extrusion
? Tooling and fixture design
? Selection and deployment of Automation. Creation of User Requirement Specs. (URS)
? Design of Experiments (DOE) and Lean Six Sigma, Minitab or other
? Hands-on use of production assembly, measurement and failure analysis tools
? IQ, OQ, PQ
? Development and deployment of best practices
? Process Audits
? Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFT)
