Job Description
- The person will be working on generally defined assignment as well as on self defined ones, mainly on prototype development in the lab, pilot plant and production plant.
- Daily routine will involve arranging for the materials, weighing, mixing, cooking and preparing for individual tasting and/or with the whole team or external.
- The second important part of the job will be to collect the data, process it on paper and in the computer, change in to information and communicate with the colleagues in the project team.
- Working mainly according to established methods and procedures and also the person must be able to identify, understand and solve occurring problems as well as be able to build on own experience and propose new working methods.
- The person must actively apply scientific insight, technical knowledge, or experience into project delivery to propose solutions.
- The person should be able to identify independently the assignment (mainly in the areas of sensory and processing of ingredients and prototypes).
- The person must communicate the problems, solutions and final results to the general audience beyond the project team.
- The person will be contacting numerous people and functions on a routine bases, internally in Shanghai, whole China, as well as in the rest of the region, so English skills are than essential.
- The person is expected to establish and build necessary contacts for the project
Education/Major:
- Bachelor major in foods science/technology ,with minimum of 2 years of Foods RD experience .
- Master major in foods science/technology , refreshment and/or above , with related work experience is preferred .
Working experience:
- Experience in other food processing companies or at the job requiring work in the lab on formulations.
- Knowledge about basic culinary principles and how they apply to Savoury products.
- It will be preferred when the person has not only the knowledge of ingredients, products, but as well sensory evaluations and shelf-life testing.
- Ability to evaluate raw materials and assess products for flavour, aroma, mouthfeel / texture and appearance.
- Knowledge about basic nutrition principles and the nutritional properties of ingredients.
- Awareness and avoidance of Regulatory and Public Opinion issues.
- Awareness product safety: the four types of hazards: microbiological, foreign body, chemical and allergenic.
- Excel knowledge to use key functionality of the spreadsheet.
