We are looking for a Senior Tax Research Analyst (VAT) that is located in China that will represent the company, internally and externally, as a tax subject matter expert by being knowledgeable of the tax compliance and administration requirements of commercial business entities. The primary tax knowledge indicators include the ability to understand and interpret the application of the tax body of knowledge to general business requirements as represented in the company software products. An additional requirement is to represent the tax body of knowledge in the company services initiatives and engagements. This position will join the company Content Development group and focus on indirect taxes in China at all jurisdiction levels particularly Value Added Tax, Business Tax and surcharges, Candidates should be current on tax reform efforts currently underway in China including the Shanghai Pilot Program. Experience with indirect tax systems in other countries in the Asia Pac region is a plus.
In this role, you will assume responsibility for:
? Ability to research and interpret tax and case law and determine how it impacts the company products regarding
the addition of new content or the maintenance of existing content
? Ability to structure complex tax content within the company products in a logical manner that is consistent
with system architecture and platforms
? Ability to test complex tax content and functionality within the company products and internal databases
? Perform quality assurance tasks
? May be called upon to assist in leading projects and / or workgroup activities
? Strong contributor in developing requirements for new tax functionality
? Ability to understand complex customer issues while learning systems feature functionality to develop
solutions

Education and Training:
? Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business discipline. Equivalent work experience may substitute for
some portion of the education requirements.
Work Experience:
? 4+ years of value added tax (VAT) and other indirect tax experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment is
required
? Understanding of accounting functions and principles is required
? Tax experience in one or more provinces in China is required
? Diverse industry or consulting experience is a plus
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Ability to speak English and Chinese is required
? Must be proficient with tax research tools and navigating the internet
? Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to clearly articulate to internal and external
stakeholders and with individuals from diverse cultures around the globe
? Ability to work with a high degree of independence
? Must be able to represent the company as a co-participant at product demonstrations, presentations, seminars,
panels and webcasts
? Must be familiar with automated tax systems
? Understanding of tax information and the ability to formulate interpretations and determine how they apply to
the company products
? Strong aptitude for detail
? Strong analytical and logic skills
