Basically, this position needs the staff to provide optimum inputs and added values to drive innovation and continuous improvement within JTS Sever & Storage design Silos
？ By harnessing the services spirits within JTS Server and Storage work-cells and associated technical projects execution
？ By providing exceptional support to external and internal customers and team members, through technical coordination and leadership

To sum up, the major job roles and responsibilities of the Electronic (BMC) engineer in Server/Storage organization could be defined in three folds:
a) Interface effectively with system architectures and firmware (BMC) vendor(s)
b) Lead the firmware Development/update for Design & Sustaining Projects
c) Own the long-term FW Technology Plan and Roadmap

1.1 Interface effectively with system architecture and firmware (BMC) vendor(s)
a) Work with system architecture(s) to get well understood of the firmware requirements and identify the major firmware (BMC) features for JTS tasked server and Storage systems
b) Work with System architecture(s) and SCM for firmware software and related firmware source code’s pricing and negotiation.
c) Bridge and contact with firmware vendor(s) for core update or upgrade and critical bug(s) resolving

1.2 Lead the firmware development/update for Design& Sustaining Project
a) Conduct the design and implementation of the BMC and other firmware subsystem of the product
b) Support system firmware validation and lead the system level debug and root cause analysis
c) Break down the firmware development tasks to leveraged resource from Software group
d) Design and apply related patches or update to source code and drive correct remedial action through corresponding vendor(s)
e) Lead the firmware specification’s preparation and finalization
f) Control & maintain firmware code and versions across projects and customer base
g) Support the NPI introduction and related manufacture transfer
h) Support the end of life re-design, new vendor qualification, and Design related issues found in Manufacturing Field

1.3 OWN THE LONG-TERM FW TECHNOLOGY PLAN AND ROADMAP
a) Keep abreast of the latest firmware and BMC technology by independent research and engineering studies
b) Work with functional Manager and architectural director for long-term BMC firmware implementation strategies
c) Get involved in the strategic development of JTS-IP BMC firmware
