JOB SUMMARY: The Reliability Engineer role is to develop and implement efficient reliability validation plans and processes that improve the quality of Beats products, while helping support other Quality functions including Production Quality, Customer Quality, Design Quality, and Quality Systems Management. He or she interfaces with internal teams including various other disciplines in Product Development, NPI, and Operations / Planning groups to drive the reliability FA in ODMs during design phases and engage with multi-function teams to work out solutions. This position reports to the Reliability Manager and will be located in Shenzhen, China.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Develop system/component level reliability requirements for Beats products based on user conditions/ environments and customer habits.
? Collaborate, proactively and reactively, with internal functional teams such as Quality functions, product development, manufacturing operations and NPI to facilitate and drive FA on reliability failures at ODMs during design phases.
? Formulate strategic direction and perform proactive actions to prevent potential unreliability events
? Define qualification test conditions and requirements which is performed by ODMs for customized products
? On-site to audit ODM’s reliability labs, including test facility, test procedure, operational process and operator ability, Create/ release relevant reliability control forms and documents. Check test equipment and fixture to ensure all the tests are exactly performed, review the test report and rapidly alert the risk to design team
? Regular maintenance of reliability standard. Timely update reliability test specification and ORT test plan base on analyzing the customer field reliability failure data and usage behavior
? Coordinate RT activities with 3rd party labs, allocate resources to meet the demand of product development

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

? Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, mechanical, physical or materials science.
? 5-10 years reliability relevant working experience, preferably in consumer electronics industry.
? Hands-on experience in managing and performing reliability tests including environmental, mechanical and electrical testing
? Ability to drive the FA activities on ODMs
? Knowledge of international test standards, such as ASTM, JEDEC, IEC etc.
? Expert knowledge in develop reliability validation plan for consumer electronic products.
? Ability to use reliability soft such as Weibull++7, Relex to calculate MTBF or reliability related issues
? Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
? Experience with acoustic test equipment preferred
? Strong verbal and writing English communication required


COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
? Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, flowcharting and statistical software – Minitab or equivalent.
? Knowledge of product life cycle management systems and tools such as Arena and/or Agile.
? Mastery of Apple hardware and software preferred
